Very nice Nick. We will have to meet for a brew and a look see. Miles/ mods/ price? ? They all seem to be climbing in price. Last of the analogue and all that. There was a yellow one up rather cheekily for 80k on Pistonheads.

details below the pics Pete on the car. I got it for good money as wheels need refurb, needs some paint on front & rear bumper as well as the side skirts (used on track/stone chips) so nothing major just cosmetic.
yeah the PH one was up for silly money. did it sell in the end?
all I know is its VERY different to the CSL, you can't take liberties mid corner and throw it about and there is a real style to driving it. both awesome cars and just different.
just hang on at the corner exit, don't lift I have been told. need to do Bedford to exploit its potential. I have had a couple of C2s in the past but this feels a whole lot different!!

It sold within a week or two. The prices are going mental at the moment as a number of guys who've had their 991's recalled have gone back to the market with 100k+ to spend looking for older cars..
Nice car, and nice colour. Enjoy it, they're a really different driving experience.

cage in the back keeps the monkeys out too :-)
i quite fancy re doing the steering wheel is dark grey alcantara like the RS as well as the gear lever. Get jack at royal on the case.
also get the centre console with ash tray done in guards red as quite like that and would brighten up interior a bit. Then leave alone and just learn how to drive it properly :-/

It's the only thing in my dream garage to replace the CSL, but I would be so down not having a CSL on the drive that I don't think even a GT3 would keep me smiling. (16 M3's and still smiling)
Looks great!, Titanium Engine an all that ;o) good effort mate. I'm sure after you have done your titivation it will look epic.
Must again on the noise front, there's no many cars that sound like the CSL on full song, especially when the airbox note can drown out a noisy exhaust! :hahaha:
(PS Assume CSL went? or is it still in hibernation?)

end result is LOADS quieter and it drives so much better now. actually has some back pressure at low revs and torque. much better pick up and has that GT3 sound back. still sounds nice. very happy and very good pricing. about one third what it would have cost to do OEM stuff!!

Hi Nick, car looks epic. Well done mate. Ref the handling, it would definitely be worth getting the geometry checked and corner weighted by a specialist like JZM or others with good reps. I know mine is running full Manthey spec KWv3s and has been set up well, but it feels nothing like you describe. For example, miss hit miss at the Ring - lift off when 'on it' and no drama at all. This wouldn't be the same for a boggo standard GT3 geometry and if it was out then it would be a lot worse. There are many a story about GT3s with substandard handling due to being a long way from a good set-up.
So when you planning of taking it to the Ring mate? I'm there in 2 weeks for DN10 :)

I had the set up checked yesterday...it was running far too much toe in on the front. took out over a degree
it was very pointy at the front like it was on rails. trouble in the rear would try to follow but then the age old 911 issue with weight would follow.
its a bit more neutral now and so much more civilised. little bit of understeer with an aggressive turn in as you would expect from a normal GT3 set up. it was just way too pointy before and it would have got me into trouble!!
thanks, DC

I thought I saw you on the to the Nordschleife on Friday just gone. I was not long on the M20 by Maidstone and low and behold a red 996 GT3 joins me presumably off to Le Mans.
I am slightly jealous in that I want to do the RS cooling duct and spoiler conversions which you already have.
CSLSuperfan, you will be very lucky indeed to pick up a GT3 or RS at the moment. They have all disappeared and it has been like that for a while now. They presently seem like another appreciating asset.
The world has gone mad.

the other piece was changing the ARB settings around. was on full hard setting so very harsh on the road. went down 2 on the front and 1 on the rear. feels easier on the road and less crashy. handy if u get caught in the wet too.

RS rear air ram duct (helps get more air in)
going to be painted guards red. idea is to help with breathing a little bit.
going to go all red and keep the RS spoiler come spring. remove the graphics and paint front/rear bumpers.
sth like this (apart from the black roof!):

am thinking about some sports headers/manifolds (3 into one) for the car too. waiting to see how mate gets on with his and how they perform:

the OEM headers are pretty crude it seems so should help with gas flow and running smoother through the range:

over and out.
