So in an attempt to save pulling the car apart I tried resetting the SMG with the dropping it in neutral at 40 and holding the paddles back for 10 seconds.
I now have a number of warning lights orange including :
Cog, tyre pressure, hand brake, I think one more and of course the traction off warning triangle. It has also revved the engine round to the redline on three occasions. Each time it's when I'm slowing down to a stop (outside someone's house too, which is one way to announce ones arrival). The car shows it's in second gear when it does this but is in neutral or has the clutch depressed. It's it great, is it part of the 'relearning' or have I balls it up?
Any ideas?

Why were you doing it in the first place?
Are these symptoms before or after you tried the soft reset ?

I hope mine does not rev like that when one is putting it away in its snug garage.:

Wheel speed sensor, this happened to me on the Munich trip last year, if you get the code read it will tell you which one

These were after. I tried the reset as I've experienced clutch slur so before I change it I thought I'd try this.
It was fine before but now I'm having this rather unpleasant experience that scared the bejesus outa me the first time. I'll get the codes read and cleared to see if it happens again.

As already said, sounds like a wheel speed sensor! I had the exact same symptoms, not pleasant when she revs out in slow moving traffic!

+1 on that. Get it plugged in and it should indicate which wheel sensor. Very minor problem, but get it done immediately.
With regards to doing the 40 sec thing and this happening, its probably got very little to do with it. Just so happened at the same time. Plug it in and you will find out. I searched alot on it before plugging it in and for me it was spot on.
I did the 40sec thing long time ago and really didn't do much. Just unplug your battery for the night and then re-plug her up the next day and see if you still have slur.

Yeap, it was the right hand front speed sensor. I've had it off today to clean it prior to replacing it, just in case. Does anybody know if I need to clear the code or would it auto-correct on its own? The lights haven't gone out. Cheers.

A speed sensor usually clears itself but if it doesn't, get one of those cheap code readers and that should reset it. 20gbp off Ebay, and it does come in handy now and again for diagnosing other faults.
