Have you ever seen youtube of castle combe action days?
Some spectacular crashes
Maybe a track day in the future when numbers are limited
Just getting car back today after having its makeover, which started of with getting stone chips done, ended up being a full make over, including new wheels etc.......

I'm not local but do have the Full SS system. On start up from cold it's very vocal!! It's loud but can't hold a candle to the gruppem. Undoubtedly the loudest system I've heard on a csl.

It's a pity Akropovic don't supply an aftermarket system as the E92 M3 exhaust is sublime.

As with the full SS system the Akropovic is expensive, but hey nice things cost money.

Its now service time (April) for me, where do you south west guys take your cars for servicing? Good / Bad experiences?
Have spoken to my local dealer & they didn't sound like they had a clue! Also spoke to Elms a couple weeks ago & it seems lots of the experience has left! Gareth now at Bartletts & Rob the service manager has now left.

I'm based in Somerset and only use Simpsons Motorsport, although I dont have a FBMWSH so I am out of the dealer loop. My subframe repair was done by Dick Lovett BMW in Bristol and was handled superby but I couldnt comment on their service department.

I used Westerly BMW in Yeovil a few times and they were ok.

My feeling about BMW dealerships these days is that very few even know what a CSL is anymore and therefore I'll most probably be taking my car to Bartletts or Simpson Motorsport when mine is due.

Same here, my previous CSL's have been serviced at Westerly Yeovil and they have been very good to me. Paul the service tech is very knowledgeable and also a nice chap that knows his cars.

Looks like a few Somerset/South West owners must be worth a mini meet?

Try Wellsway in Bath & ask for Adrian Roddis (service manager). Always have great service from these guys. Looked after our CSL for 7 years & now look after our latest cars.

Outskirts of bath. Always happy to meet some other CSL owners!

No one recommended redish Motorsport? Always take my CSL there, James has built a CSL from scratch so if he doesn't know it, ain't worth knowing!

Well having Spoken to Paul at Westerly he certainly came across very well & helped as much as he could. So decision time, Insp 2 at BMW down the road from me for £930 or 2 day trip to Cambridge area to see Gareth at Bartletts for considerably less before fuel & hotel !!?
So Any ideas / dates for a meet up then?

I don't think it matters where you get the service done as long as they know what there on about and you trust them. I had an inspection 1 for about £350 at power station in tewks!. Know there stuff!.

That's a normal M3 with CSL bumper and boot lid. I've passed it a few times on my way to the office in Bristol

Hi,

I'm actively looking for a car. But have never had a ride in one. I live near Taunton. Just wondered whether anyone might be able to help me out?
Happy to pay fuel, or buy car if you're selling;-)

Cheers,

James.

I'm actually at Minehead. About 20 miles from Taunton. But also very close to North Devon. I get up to Shepton for work once a month.
Regarding tracking at castle Combe. I've also done a number of track days there. Scary in the wet with so little run off. But really a great track. I hope to do some sessions there if I can track down a car.

Cheers.

Is anyone going to the Thornfalcon car show on Sunday? It's near Taunton. I'll be there around 10.00am. It's free and there are usually around 1200-1400 cars. From vintage, custom, American, steam, kit, performance, new. And my favourite, obscure 80's. Pretty much anything you could possibly think of.
