Before I go pulling mine apart, could someone who has already done so please provide a step by step guide on how to remove it pretty please?

Mike, Mark CSL put up some pics in his thread around carbon bits.

http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9669&page=7

I had mine carbon dipped as it was cracked and paint damaged.

remove rear seats.
undo the round washer that holds it in. you will need to put another one in as it pressed around the seat fabric to hold in.
take out the alcantara bits very carefully as they are pressed in with a clip as carbon is fragile. put the carbon against sth flat and hard then press out gently.
I think there are a couple of screws in the front bit you have to take out.

I'm hoping that the above will be self-explanatory when I have a look tonight.

I assume that once you lift the seat base up at the front it unclips from what-ever secures it to the floor? Are there any bolts securing it at all? The Cossie has just two bolts at the front and once these are undone, just slides out.

Car isn't here to look at until I get home, I just don't want to break anything removing it as I've noticed that the repair Elms did on the rear base has cracked again and obviously needs properly reinforcing.

seat base just clips into the retainers that are in the rear pan.

its a very easy job mike and you will be fine.

just take care removing the alcantara strips from the console itself.

Done and all stripped down. Must say I'm a bit disappointed in the repair that was carried out - looks like a bit of glue and not much else :banghead:.

Sounds like my handiwork....but it wasn't.
