turns out the rather fuelly smell to the CSL when on tick over and they way it picks up with the taps open was down to the fact the car was de catted!! news to me.
have now got OEM CATs on there but wondering if the de cats have any value? basically the same shape and fitment as the normal CATs.
ideal for the boys who track their cars. then swap over to the normal CATs for MOT and you would be fine.
let me know if interested.
will up load pics.

sure. it looks like its an OEM set of CATs with heatshields removed and then the guts taken out.
the welding job and finish to re seal the boxes looks pretty good.
no cracks or damage to the pipes and they fit up to the normal OEM pipes like OEM CAT fitment.

lined up next to OEM CATs (decats at top of pic):

Car will overfuel and lose low down torque......Gain power and torque at high RPM with decat.

agreed. car went like a stabbed rat over 4k RPM.
feels a bit more restricted now, quieter but better on fuel!!
DECATs are ideal for track cars who spend all their time in the upper range.
if you get it mapped properly with a de cat then this can help with the fuelling side.

You can get m3 cats for sub £100.
Gut the inside for peanuts and have what you have.
I reckon worth £100. Sell sensors on their own.
