So as per the other thread

Lucas is already booked on the Papenburg drifting course / day on the Sunday 12th October.

Shim saying there is a Spa track day on the 13th (Pistonclub) Skylimits on the Tues 14th.

So possible agenda head out to ring Friday stay Friday night, breaky and head to Terry's town :smokin: Groningen (40 miles from Papenburg) ready for drift day on the Sunday, then Spa Monday or Tuesday.??

Or could do Pap Sunday, ring Monday, Spa Tuesday heading out sat to stay in Groningen for the Sat night ??

So I'm in for Papenburg and will book that in the week for the 12th

Awesome Daz, I'm in. I'll book Papenburg next week. I'll also sort out a hotel in Groningen. By the way, my experiences on a night out there were always mid-week. Can only imagine a weekend would be even better :)

There are always the sort of bars that you like too, Daz :)

It's a fookin long drive from Calais. It might be worth looking into a Ferry from Harwich to Hook ?? I think that's the route. Although I'm happy to drive from the tunnel also :)

Possible yes. Def can get home from Spa on the Monday night, and Papenburg to Spa is a trek on Sudnay night but I'm guessing possible.

Only issue is maybe who wants to hit the Ring and when? Ferry wil land at Hook about 6.30am so possible to do Saturday afternoon Ring then head to Papenburg.
If everybody heads over Friday I might have to just come over and meet everyone in Papenburg

I would prefer a day's recovery after the night out so maybe a few of us can leave on the Thursday night Harwich ferry and hit it large in Groningen Friday night, recover Saturday and meet the rest of the homo's Saturday night before Sundays Drift event.

I'm up for heading to Spa straight after the drifting and having the Spa TD Monday.

There are 2 ferries a day

Depart 9am arrives 16:45 (then 3 hour+ drive)

or

Depart 11:15pm arrives 7:45am next day

So we can either get the Thursday night ferry along with a few beers or get the Friday morning ferry and not arrive in Gronigen until gone 8pm...

People can still work on Thursday then head to the ferry that evening....

Overnight gets my vote

How far away from Papenburg is this mythical town of 18 year olds all horny and boozed up? :supz:

A two hour blast in the morning, drift day then 3 hour blast to Spa would be a long day so best to be in Pap Saturday night.

Saying that I'm up for either, Friday night out, blast round the local roads Sat on the way to Pap then up early and fresh Sun. Or as Darren so relevantly put it go 'Dutch' on the Saturday night.

I'll be getting the tunnel, can't be doing with 20 knots for hours on end. :birdman:

You shouldn't lunch your tyres at Papenburg as the whole idea is that it has a low friction surface. Although you may do with Assen and Spa too :)

Papenburg is standard tarmac but they keep it wet with a tanker, or try at least. Yesterday was sunny and windy so it was tricky with conditions changing all the time as they wet the track. Hopefully there should be rain in October followed by 2 days of sunshine. :gayfight:

I always take a set of 18s with old road tyres, the less grip the better. The guys in the 1Ms use old winter tyres on 18s. The CSL has so much grip and not a massive amount of torque low down so any help reducing that traction is a good idea. There are no tyre changing facilities there or anywhere in Papenburg on the Sunday. As long as it's not dry and you don't go crazy the road tyres will last but better to take two rear 18s with budget tyres.

I've not quite worked out how to get 1 set of drift and 1 set of track wheels in the car. Maybe we should all chip in and find a van and man to drive all the wheels and tyres to each event? Anyone got any willing mates or a spare van?

I'm up for that as i won't fit 2 fat rear 18" wheels/tyres in the back of a 911

I know someone that might be willing to join us, not only to transport wheels, but to act as a bit of support too. I'll ask him and get an idea of price, then we can consider it. He used to support me when I competed in Time Attack a few years ago.

Sounds good.

There is nothing going on in Papenburg in the evenings so I wouldn't recommend two nights there.

I stayed here last weekend:

Parking you say - they don't do parking in Groningen... In fact cars are the enemy to the cyclist - all 40,000 of the bastards... Be careful there - you hit a cyclist (and they always have right of way) and you'll do bird with Josef Fritzl :gayfight:

I was hoping to drive really but I could bring the Landcruiser with my driftcar trailer which has room for 20 wheels and tyres. I also have about 8 -10 scrappy 19s and 18s I could bring as if you guys have a slight off on to the gravel ......sorry I mean when you guys have a slight off on to the gravel it will save you having to refurbish your wheels as I had to do with a newly refurbished set of CSL wheels I stupidly took when I first went about 18 months ago. The track is safe so have no worries there but some of the stones off the track are pretty big and will knacker your wheels.
So happy Assen is on the cards although Ill need to get some extra bungs for my exhaust. Is the level really is 98Db? :bigcry:
You guys are going to love Papenburg though.

They can offer a 10% discount for 10+ cars on a single day.

I'm waiting further details as to the best method to book and pay. Will let you know as soon as I know then we can get this locked in.

I have a feeling Skylimts are the TDO and DF just buy places of them. I'll try Skylimits and see what happens so don't rush into anything (not that we will have 10 anyway)
