old classic meets future classic....

met up with a mate today who was basically given this lovely 20v audi Quattro in tornado red. what a bonus and what a car.

weather was lovely in kent so rude not to catch up and take the cars out for a play. CSL feels very modern to the inside of the Quattro. but the Quattro is not short of some puff with 220 bhp and being quite light.

the Quattro got loads of thumbs up from people as did the CSL. nice day for a drive!!

Lovely reminds me of my old blue one. Worst part of the car were the brakes, faded in no time. Last time I saw one on the road was Jan this year being driven as it should be (making use of its traction & passing) near Obertauern. Tried to find it on the web but no luck.

The Audi is of it's time, same era as the E30 M3 and the 190 2.5 16V all timeless classics, now dated only by their design characteristics. :thumbs:
