After 2 months ownership I finally conceded to the fact that my clutch slur wasn't going away despite my spirited driving / not lifting off on up/ downchanges paddle reset etc etc, And an SMG recalib was my only option, I was a touch worried that my indy didn't have the software to complete this and I was gonna have to use a main dealer (shock horror), However I needn't have worried as Bluebell Wilmslow were up to the job despite a 45 min job taking 3+ hours, Mainly down to Jimmy being very thorough, top bloke.. that also included an SMG update as my car was running old software (2 behind latest version :smt118 ) Well the car feels like a different car.. The changes are now instant without any slur.. I was beginning to think maybe this SMG aint all its cracked up to be but not anymore, Cost £100 inc vat all in inc software update, Certainly cheaper than new clutch and flywheel as that was my next option.

Maybe you could link your SMG experience to educate all of the misguided SMG/CSL haters on PH

From a BMW main dealer unfortunately... Mind you its only a fairly cheap job.. Also get the SMG recalibration done as well (it resets the clutch biting point amongst many other things and is well worth getting done) £100 well spent imo.

congratulations!!!

do you think you can report back how it is after say 1 month of regular driving so that we can see if the calibration route is the way to go for slur?

Reason I say that is whenever I disconnect my battery for a day and reconnect, the SMG is wicked sharp, but as I don't drive like a crazy person all the time. :hahaha:, the slur comes back after some pussy footing.

thx in advance.

Will keep you updated guys on how it behaves in the next few weeks.

In my experience if you leave it slurring too long, you will need a new clutch.

Here is hoping.
