Was wondering what you guys think of the pss9/10 on the CSL compared with the OEM suspension?

Tinkering the thought of changing. 100% for road use. thx.

If it's for road use then 100% leave the car well alone.

seconded. pookster knows his suspension.

its already uprated dampers and springs over normal M3.

+1

No need to change for road use unless your hell-bent on achieving a lower stance.

thx guys. I though it would be the correct choice.

Was itching to do a few mods, but OE is very nice and no complaints. :hahaha:

I'm of a simular thinking. Would a brand new set of CSL shocks achieve what your looking for ? Bilstein B6's ????

my current shocks are pretty fine. Was tinkering with the idea of trying to improve upon the chassis for the road, but it seems from what I've read on the here that OE is excellent for the road. I just need to reconfirm some of the old threads conclusions, as I can get some PSS10's at a very very decent price.

According to Matt , pss10 bilstein feels like a brand new csl susp , and stainless steel material. oem csl susp is not stainless steel therefor it already started corroding after 11 years. so i will replace it with a bilstein pss10 this year that is for sure. + lower stance is always good

Think of it as a refined OEM CSL suspension Plus  ... made of high quality materials (better corrosion resistance and lighter) with the advantages of adjustability (ride height & rebound) and rebuild-ability when needed. IIRC PSS10 is also better value then buying New OEM stuff from BMW (if they still have any left) and the rear springs don't snap periodically

You're welcome :-D
TBH if your OEM suspension is fit & well no point swapping for PSS10, or anything else, as others have already said. If, on the other hand it's rusty, shagged and passed the 60K miles (100K kms) mark then you know what to do

I guess the comments apply to PSS9 too? There is a pair that my friend wants to unload to me at a more or less free price so I'm weighing them or the PSS10's.

PSS9 don't seem to wear as well as PSS10 and from my understanding on PSS10 they fixed some screw/nut thing as it kept popping, improved the anti-corrosion and added 1 more setting and that's it. Springs and damper settings are the same if my information is correct.

No they don't apply as I don't know much about PSS9 other then the fact the PSS10 was a considerable improvement over the PSS9.
I'd say "Google" is your friend if you want to dig out some info on pros & cons of PSS9 V PSS10.

I read from some other forums that they just made some minor improvements to make it last longer and rectify small issues the 9 had. But 10's are the ones to go for as they ironed out those minor gremlins.
