Once the GTR was sold, I realised that I needed something to pull the track car to DN and other events in Europe and, hopefully, go racing this year. So here's what I bought.

It's a 2009 TDV8, 34k miles with all the options. It's got pimping wheels and a hilarious WAG-style ivory leather interior with piano black trim. The sound system is awesome, it wafts along, is surprisingly rapid and the Leicester boy in me loves it. Next job is to get the towing electrics fitted and get it chipped (so if anyone has any recommendations for chipping RR's, please say). I bought it private from a lovely wealthy housewife in Surrey who could have given me a test drive round the grounds of her house. I paid £26k, which I think is a good deal.

I'm doing the Circuit Days Spa and Ring trip in April, so looking forward to see how it handles a long towing trip.

Cecil still in storage but got her out for a quick spin the other weekend and I was instantly reminded why I sold the GTR to keep her.

My E36 track car will be up for sale soon as I've bought a share in a different M3, so will post details over the weekend.

Was she happy with the deposit

She was honest enough to say that she was looking for a bigger transaction, but I promised to be a quick and simple buyer. I imagine she was disappointed.
