Just signed and returned the final paperwork....all looking good.

Due at dealer wc 10th March and as long as it does, the price should remain as quoted.

If all goes well the Mini Cooper S will have to go. Shame coz it is a brilliant little car, 45mpg, nippy, comfy, wife loves it (haven't told her yet), and it's nearly perfect for a 10 year old motor (much much better than the CSL :) )

The stock brakes of the M135i are 320mm.
There is also an upgrade package to have 340mm discs (one piece).
Therefore, the OEM CSL brake discs are bigger, single pot though.

I drove the M135i x-drive of a friend of mine last Sunday at the Blackforest.
It's very easy to drive.
I made the brakes purple. It is quick but utterly boring.
It's no way quicker than a CSL or M3 E46 or ... or ...

Not my CSL :) and I did it with cones out for kerbs, no shortcuts.

But I have to say my basic M135i with manual box and non-active suspension has a little vague steering at the limits and is soft like a road car BUT it is like Thors Hammer. Not dissimilar to te F10M5 it delivers it's power continuously, lag is virtually gone and there is to drop in the pose crude, it just Keeps coming

I think we should take them to Bedford for a How Fast session and if dry we can do a real comparison to the CSL on the West Corcuit.

Saturday 19th April?

I'm up for that Shim.

Thors Hammer indeed, very impressive engine and sounds nice as well. Gets better with age. I still find the steering vague and slightly annoying. Also a little rolly polly at the limit. Get the feeling Curly's adjustable suspension might cope on track slightly better. The ol'devil might have out-thought us on specification.:bigcry:

No but is more effortless overtaking at real world speeds. Very confidence inspiring, especially with 8sp box.

I've got a 118i Sport at the moment as a loaner, and can't say I'm enjoying the driving experience too much. It feels quite tall, heavy and bouncy, and the steering feel is hopeless.

Obviously this thing is way under-powered compared to the M135, but how are you guys finding the driving experience ?

Mine is the slow version without adaptive suspension of the 8sp auto box (6 speed manual) so hard to give just one answer, but I'd say mine feels quick, very quick, day to day quicker than CSL and will Be very interesting to see how fast Curly, me (and Alex if he comes along) wrestles the M135 round bedford west.

talking of 1 series I got a new car for Wife - 114i Sport

nowt exciting, nowt pretty but ruddy cheapo for a new car. BMW are giving these away!!

sold the old a3 TDI as was getting long in the tooth. got asking of 5250 in private sale so that was bonus.

£200 pcm all in for the 114i and includes parking sensors/comfort park, in alpine white, 17 inch wheels and sport pack as well as £1k off asking price.

will run it for 3 years and then do it again.

bloody good on fuel (1.6 T petrol), 6 speed, I drive dash gubbins and ideal for the wife to smoke around in. got a sport button too if ever I borrow it.

I know its not a M135i but amazing how cheap you can run cars monthly on the personal lease and then tie your cash up elsewhere in other things that do make money medium to long term.

I had a chance to give the 118i a little bit of a thrash round some corners last night, and I've changed my mind about it as a result. It was good fun to punt around in, nicely balanced and confidence-inspiring, and surprisingly nippy if you use the whole rev range. Still don't like the steering feedback and it does somehow feel big compared to a CSL...

M135i gone back to leae company now, and what a pleasangt experience it was. I have never leased a car before. It was delivered, driven for 19500 miles over 2 years and 10 days, then picked up by the klease company.

No need for service, oil, tyres, brakes, repairs. No faults, no recalls and absolutely no issues whatsoever. It has never seen a dealer.

Bye bye M135i.

Agreed. Mine went back 3 weeks ago, 19700 miles, one track day, two Ring trips, driven hard but often long journeys hence 31mpg average. No tyres here either remarkably.

I did service mine, was told I couldn't send it back needing one. Interesting if you get away with it.

Cracking cars, and as you say very cheap. Mine is now for sale at Car Giant at £21,995.

Lets presume it's the latter @ £215 X 6 = £1290 + VAT (I'm guessing ?) ... followed by 24 X £215 = £5160 + VAT ... £6450 + VAT, over 24 months...works out at around £269 + VAT per month.
Hmmm, not a bad deal, overall :smokin: especially if you can claim all the VAT back

bought my 120D outright in 2005 for 20K

currently on 230,ooo miles

so doing a quick comparison its cost me £20,000 divided by 132 months

£151 per month and falling

slight holy thread deviation I know but its late and I'm just in from a shitty M56 Scouseland drive.
