Ive got a miltek back box with a supersprint centre section.
Now i want to change the back box as i cant stand the noise of it.who has a back box that doesn't have such a strong rasp to it?
Supersprint centre section has quietened the rasp a bit but i didn't realise when i bought the back box that it was gonna sound like it.

The standard one rasps even more, but the Supersprint back box has a lovely deep bellow - but it is effing loud and drones below 3000rpm LOL.

It's only an issue around town, on normal high speed driving it is not much louder than standard (providing you're above 3000rpm) and on a steady state throttle.

Full Supersprint + OEM cats = much less drone than Miltek :-D

My back box has had the fixing brackets cut off and sleeves fitted so i cant try it cos im not cutting my centre section.
It still has the rasp though.i don't want that

Whats the rasp like rob and does it pass db test on track
My shit box only just makes it IF you come straight off the motorway straight to testing don't let it cool down you have no chance

It does have some rasp as I have the SS un-resonated centre section - which I like personally. If you fit the resonated centre it practically eliminates rasp (AlexGTT has such a setup).
By far the biggest culprit of exhaust drone is the fitting of aftermarket 100 cell cats as I have experienced this firsthand.
My car is generally 100dB at track days and passes straight away so long as it is hot as you say.

I forgot to mention that my set up is a little bit loud at 106dB, so not suitable for anything other than the likes of Snetterton or Silverstone :(. I have to fit the standard back-box back on if I want to go on any other track :(.
However, it DOES sound the bollocks - skip to 51s and crank up the speakers :).

I have SS lwt race, res centre section and 100 cell cats and have never failed a static test or drive by test (except Zolder where I went past all the meters in 3rd :) )
I personally think the best set up is SS lwt race, OeM centre, and 100 cell cats (for the extra 5bhp)

I would need to buy another centre section for that set up as mine has been cut and sleeved bummer.

Im running a catless, single exit system on mine. Should be fab'd end of month. Couple of inline silencers.
Loads lighter, just waiting to see the db levels.

WOW so Eisenmann!!
I bought that in the end and wow race exhaust is super quiet slight burble at 2-3k revs unlike the noisy miltek no RASP OR RATTLE from cold. down side its a little heavy but the quality makes up for it.
Great deal from Roy at ca-int thanks mate exactly what i wanted!!

Our exhaust is finished. It's off getting jigged now.
No cats, no rear O2 sensors. Single exit at rear.
I'll have full details, weight, power gains, vids, db levels etc in a couple of weeks time.

Very impressed all round with the results we have already .Shane has but a lot of time into getting this just right and I don't think there is a better system on the market atm

I seriously think if the dyno stuff works out you should think about a fake rear quad pipe so you can sell it to the m3 and CSL boys otherwise you'll miss out on sales, coz I want one.
Ps can you do high flow race system for 325i :)
