I really fancy one of these... faster than an R26r (evo) and look cool as f***. Wish i could get the missus to have one :)

Anyone driven the 2013 GP?

Lol. My mate ribbed me too - reckoned it's a poofs car! I just think it could be a bit of a dark horse.. heard stories of nearly 250hp!!

I love them, tried to get the misses into a GP1 ages ago but the no rear seats killed the idea.

I do keep trying to find a valid reason for why we 'must' have one though.....

I have the GP Mk I (2006) as a run around. Went for a quick blast in the Mk II but not long enough to judge properly for differences. Two things I do not like - it seems to be a Mini thing, is the ridiculous 'car jack' self locking doors and the high beam control. You pull the stalk for on and you pull it for off :banghead: .

Aside from that it is a bit of a baiter.

The MKI GP can easily have rear seats installed.
Just remove the strut bar and fit normal seats.

Looks good and I bet it's loads of fun......

Didn't realise you could fit rear seats in the Mark 1......Makes it a better purchase then when you have kids...

:hahaha:

so long as you aint wearing jeans with turn-ups, and as tight it looks like you're smuggling a budgie, i don't think the GP applies to the 'ghey's in Mini's' category.

My missus has one but I do admit to enjoying driving it. It is a real little hooligan - about as far removed from a girls car (driving experience) as you could ever imagine.

Proper hardcore, noisy, stiff, and very fast at less than 3 figure speeds. Not taken it on the track yet, but that will be rectified this year :)

Cheers Terry. Like the sound of it! Is it the GP2 (2013 model) you have?

Yes mate, 2013 model. It is a riot. Think of in as a Mini CSL and I genuinely mean that - only 200 in UK , very hardcore, etc... It doesn't look like a woman's car, at all.... :)

It even has adjustable (ride height) coilover suspension as standard :notworthy:

And it feels considerably lighter and more responsive than the regular JCW. However I have fitted a set of Continental road tyres and removed the standard fit Kumho's from a safety perspective. It's used as a daily and the Kumho's are like Cups :)

It's deffo on the radar when i get bored of the 1M terry, especially now you say it's like a Mini CSL :supz:

We were disappointed when we realised that there were no options to spec... And considered a fully loaded JCW, but the drive, desirability and future resale value made the GP2 a no brainer :)
