Does anyone here have any experience with 50’s f100 pickups?
Always fancied one & summer past was keeping an eye out for one but still have very cold feet as I know nought about them.
It would be light use, carry bikes (push bike), been looking at vans, Nissan Navara’s but none of them excite me enough to want to purchase one. It isn’t for every day use so would like something different, an old pickup could be a daft choice but it tickets that box.
Spotted this one on ebay, first thing that puts me of is the engine, secondly why has the current owner not registered it in the UK & what would it take to finish & would you uncover problems in the process...

Looks OK, and not to bad on the price, Engine is a bit of an ODDBALL and that would put me off, theres a few on Rods and Sods forum for sale worth a look, I love em.

I like the mods carried out & its stance but the engine & 3spd auto box would be a concern.
Thanks for the tip, must take a look at Rods & Sods.

A friend of mine is building his own one with tail winch and chains.
He likes odd projects. I'll be seeing him this weekend, I'll see if he has anything around him at the minute.

Looks clean.
How'd you arrange this, you go do it in person?
What are import cost?

Its just finding the b@lls to go for it & buy it unseen thro a reputable dealer... that I probably lack.
What are approx transportation costs?
& I presume there is no duty to be paid?

Duty can be a pain, if you get it through on a BTI (age or of special interest) then its just 5% total to pay.
Shipping using Ro Ro not container is between £1000-£1300
hope that helps
