I been looking at the classifieds lately and noticed there are some very low mileage CSLs and some more normal and also high mileage ones.
Just wondered how many miles and how many owners there CSLs had :-) ?

Being CSLgirls other half, and all I get to do is clean the CSL and keep the servicing all in check, I will be looking to buy another CSL (in SB) in the next few years (4) hopefully. So can you keep the mileage down on all SB CSL's please because I will want to use it daily and also track it so we can keep this one standard and sparkly for special occasions :) Good things come to those that wait

We put most of those miles on it during the first 3 years of owning it. She came every where with us. Then it started to hold its value and the word "cult" started to be used in conversations about CSL's. Then a couple of kids and down to one wage for a few years restricted what we could do. We didn't mean to keep the mileage down, it was just the way the cookie crumbled. Now we accidentally have an investment. Its not immaculate, but it is as it came out the M factory. Standard with the original floor pan, it has never been modified except the noisy exhaust that we love. Number two will be a modified one ready for heavy use, can't wait really :)

He he! I have had the same thought as well, what if they go ballistic value wise! (which I hope they will). Would have to be a 4yr old F80 then LOL. My father in law had a V12 E type he sold for funds when CSL girl came along, think it still haunts him letting it go! Love the CSL too much now even if she does sit around quite a bit it still makes us feel good just owning one :-D

Mines on 98,000, done 21k in 16 months, used 50 mile round trip to work, every week day around back lanes, dual carriageway and B roads. I can't imagine using another car as a daily driver except for a 1M. I agree with Hankcharlie, I'm going to enjoy my special machine instead of saving it for next owner!

Im the opposite.....keeping the miles low and hoping there will be a financial reward somewhere. Problem is its in the garage and its too easy to sorn it and when it it taxed to avoid using it if the weather is bad. It wouldnt do for us all to be the same though. The is a part of me that would fancy an M135i to use daily in a year or so, just dont want to part with anything.

Then an average miles great condition one so you can drive it like you stole it everywhere with a stereo upgrade to BOSE or something and possibly AP Racing brakes, subframe reinforcement IMO

50k, owned it 4 years and driven around 21000 joy filled miles. It's just been detailed had a few warranty jobs but they wont cover the clutch, I'm getting slur. So that's the next job for the new year, that along with sitting at the tail pipes with some autosol. I do occasional think about selling, got very close to that a few years ago for personal reasons but realistically I think the car will be with me for a very long time.

56k miles, which means about 7k miles in 3 years. It's SORN-ed and undercover for the winter now, and probably won't get too much use next year other than the odd spin up the mountains
I'm going to try and use my E30 a bit more though, as that hardly turned a wheel in 2013
mines on 74k, bought with 39k in 2007.
i have only done 2k miles mot to mot this year and my insurance is limited to 2k next year. To think a few years back i did 10k in her in a year as my daily driver! i maybe selling in 2014 as i’ve got a big hairy GT3 itch to scratch.
in a way i wish i hadn’t bought the car, as its been such a great car to own that it’s stopped me moving on sooner - therefore, i blame the csl for me not spunking a load of dough on fezzers and porks :clown:

I took it to Ashford BMW, the Csl failed the mot on a ball joint so I took it down, they fixed that, gearbox seal and a diff seal replaced the oil all on the warranty. They said they tried to say an engine oil leak had caused the clutch failure but warranty wanted photos so they back out. I argued directly with BMW customer service, in fact they know I'm still not happy but they said it is a wearable item and without something they can pin it on they say tough. I tried to argue that a clutch is isn't operated by the driver wearing out before it's time is obviously a fault of some kind and whilst they failed to answer this point they just kept saying sorry we aren't doing it. If anyone has any ideas I still have the lady's email address but I am about to buy a new clutch kit and get a local mech I know to fit it.
Hi Glendog, I have looked on here on occasion but life has become very busy now, I haven't seen a track in over 2 years, that needs fixing before I forget how to drive :smt003

That's what I had on done a track day and was totally disillusioned with GTR as under steer was awful, csl was much faster with Falkens in wet. Done 200+ in last week in wet with mpss and grip is amazing with gradual break away. Now enjoying the wet for the first time , car takes full throttle in 2nd gear with 600bhp in damp without traction control coming on its great !!
