BM04 CSL is out there for about £1250 + costs, B33 MER is on eBay for £3,500 - has been for months - but I just picked up a CSL plate for the astronomical sum of . . . £250 all in from DVLA.
BM04 CSL would look good. BM53 CSL also available -
BM04 CSL was owned by a mate of mine in Nottingham - it was his second CSL and in MINT condition. He then sold it to NJ, who sold it to someone else, who sadly wrote it off. It's a good plate, but i think the fact it is associated with a written-off SG CSL puts me off a bit. Probably me being a bit daft, but...

It's the 'cost' i don't understand! i searched for 1M and found 1ML... A mere snip at £211,425.00! Or in man maths - equivalent to 4228.53 visits to the local rub house. Erm..

That is what I meant by "buying" as I undertand wanting and having one (for various reasons) but to pay for one is a bit weird

I spent an hour or so exchanging bargaining emails for "CLS 1" until I realised.
- just found the emails - it was actually "CLS 3" with bossreg
luckily they wouldn't budge on price or I'd have ended up looking a bit daft(er).
Its all a personal choice, some people like them and some people think its a bit sad. My car came with a csl plate. If it was on another car it would mean nothing and it looks quite inconspicuous. Im happy with that.

I've always had personilized plates and think it makes the car a bit more "yours"
Like changing the wheels etc.....
I've had
BEA 105T on my Renault 5 Turbo (BEALO 5T)
Had M3 BLS on lots of cars (M3 BEALES)
Had R1 BLO on my Yamaha R1 (R1 BEALO)
Now got 9 BLS and that will be the last one.... for sure

It now resides on the wife's mini.
Causes confusion with Elms reception (not service dept).
Me: I would like to book the mini in for a service.
Elms: registration number
Me: H13 CSL
Elms: oh you want BMW servicing
Me: no mini
Elms: but you have a csl
Me: yes, but the number is on a mini
Just goes to show you that everyone at Elms knows the csl

I bought the CSL plate for mine to stop all the "is it a real CSL" questions, so far only 1 person has asked tho
However I'm in the process of buying another that's more personal to me when my claim £££ comes through from the NHS

It seems to have an issue after the abuse it took in Europe... I think the engine has to come out and if it does i'm going to get the full 3.8 build and bigger Turbo's and go for the full fat 9e17 package....
If it doesn't have to come out then uprated full system and more boost...
Looking forward to seeing it again. It will have been a year since driving it...
