I remember seeing those pictures a few years ago - have you still got your E30 CSL (or any E30)?

Hi,
MikeR- I have just sold the S54 CSL Dry sumped
engine out of it and the Shell and some
other parts are now up for sale.
It was a fun Car, never used it that much,
and when the CSL which is approx the
same power 365 ish, but is approx 250 Kg's heavier
went about 2 - 3 secs a lap quicker then it
got used even less.
Iconic shell to look at but they ride way to
high even in DTM spec which I ran, the
CSL is approx 60mm lower, so far superior COG,
has a longer wheel base by over 100mm and far less engine over the
front axle, even though I pushed the engine way back in the E30,
std E46 aero is better, its just the rear Subframe
mounts where the E30 beast a E46, hands down !!
Had several over the years, but now think the
MERC 190 DTM car even with its boat like steering
was the far superior car, of the two 4 pots.

If it's the CSL in the pictures, I'm not surprised that it is quicker than the E30 with all that aero / tyre footprint :).
Do you still have any of the toys in the pics :)?

Hi,
Still have the CSL and the Merc 190 16v,
and the current project which I hope
I can complete.
Days of toys are numbered now, but would
like to do Spa in the current project when
its done, hopefully.

That was cryptic - what is the current project ;)?
Any chance of doing a build thread on it similar to the E30s (along with any further improvements on the CSL)?

Hi,
On the current project I am keeping
stum until I know it works, took a
bit of a gamble so just hope it all
comes together, and most importantly
works !!!
Will never do another, that is a given.
I will take a few snaps along the way and
post up when its done and working.

The Gorilla.
