As my car waits at Elms I'm going to have a courtesy car for quite a while. I've been given a BMW UK 320d coupe M-Sport. Already covered 2600 miles in it and looks like I might have it for a few months more, will it be some sort of record?

Cant fault the service, car was delivered to me brand new with 86 miles on the clock.

But CSL part supply getting more and more difficult....?

Maybe we should buy more reliable cars...

I think if our cars break down about October to March, we have the perfect car where BMW offer a monthly new vehicle for less than £100 a month effectively

4k in 435i and picking up new 640d on Friday.

So far Ive had, mini cooper, 320d vert, X1, 118i, 320 GT, 430d, M5, M3, 435i.

M5 was insane, managed Scotland and back in a day with Adem.

CSL has been moved out of the garage about 5 times at 5 metres forward and 5 metres back. So 50 metres in 14 months.

sorry peeps but I'm sure I've topped this, I was in 5 different cars over 18 months waiting on the rear lower arm for my CSL at Berry BMW. This included 3 e92 M3's, a M5 and finally a 330d sport touring.
I guess the kept swapping the motors to keep the mileage down:whistle:

Here's a question: I guess you courtesy car chaps (Hi Dave! How's work etc.) have settled for the situation since it's covered by warranty but what do you think you'd each have done without a warranty?

For instance, Billyboy do you need a full engine or could have you get a rebuild? Could the parts be made up by some external company?

Is the problem that without original BMW parts the car becomes unoriginal and loses value/CSLness?

I guess I'm in a drastically different situation but I just can't see a situation where I'd accept not driving the car I bought for over a year while I was waiting. What happened to the rear lower arm? I know they're different to a standard M3, I guess it got bent rather than wearing out?

I bent the arm and damaged the ns wheels after hitting a kerb when avoiding a piss head who cut me up, lower arm was back order and date kept moving back. I guess the upside of the delay was free secure storage for over a year leaving me to store my e30 in the garage where the CSL normally resides. Oh and a dealer credit

Probably get someone to skim the head and block then fit some shrick cams.

I have had warranty's on all my M cars as I like to use BMW original parts.

Not driving my car for 14 months is not ideal and really p*sses me off. Ive worked hard to pay for that.

I have asked to upgrade, get bought out and have a guaranteed date but nobody actually cares. I speak to BMW UK on a weekly basis who will not let me have a M car despite the above. They will not let me buy a new M4 and trade the CSL so I have forgotten about the car and bought another E46 M3 for Adem and I to turn into a track monster.

All I know that one day the car will have a new engine (44k) previously, with every bush replaced, new cups and brand new CSL suspension looking like it did all those years ago.

I expect the car prices to keep rising, especially good examples, poor one's might go cheap or not sell. Once I get mine back I think Ill keep it locked up and give it to my daughter for her to use for a house deposit.

They are great cars but BMW need to stop situations like this happening. I know nothing about cars but I bet I could source a camshaft, test etc quicker than the current waiting list.

Could anyone that is waiting for CSL parts please PM me.

Im going to call them now as this post makes me MAD!!!!!!
