Just got a reminder letter through that my warranty is about to run out in march. Got all the prices etc that I need, but it says:

Act now for peace of mind
Your BMW Insured Warranty is only available for purchase until March 2009. After this date you will not be able to purchase a BMW insured Warranty, so please dont delay.

Whats that about?

Mine runs out at the end of march!

Can you pay monthly for it?

Think what it means is that once expired you cannot renew, although that goes against what was posted a while back..

Maybe just the excess free policy is not available once expired... a bit unclear in their letter deserves an explanation :119:

You can renew once your policy has expired, I did mine last week.

But, I there is a difference in cost between extending your existing policy, and renewing a lasped policy.

A lasped policy will cost £1171 to renew (Comprehensive, 0xs), and I think its only £961 to extend an existing policy.

Details here on warranties:

It could be out of date as it only changed late last year so that you could renew a lasped policy.

And yes, you can pay monthly.

I have the full warranty no excess £951
Also as the airbox motor costs just under £100
Why would you want to add excess.
So if the smallest thing goes on my CSL it is back to BMW for repair

I would think so, after all its just like your insurance - you can choose a different excess each year.

I would also think you can but i am not sure you could take out the small warranty then take out the full 1 ????

Might be worth a call to bmw warranty

Yeah, you can up/downgrade your warranty.

Don't forget your xs is for every claim, so if you have two claims in a year thats a further £250 you'll have to pay!

I have a fully comp 0xs, so I can just hand the keys over, get anything/everything fixed and pick it up without paying a penny.
