I phoned them 4 days ago and they still had to agree a price with the seller (after having various bits done to it i think) and the lovely sales lady was supposed to get back to me with a figure. But she never did.... so I phoned them today only for her to break my heart and tell me it was sold.

I got an email from ML about this car just before they got it having registered my interest in Black cars a while back, seeing that they basically just advertised them as sold.

They expected to achieve £34-35K for this car. which apparently had special provenance, which I took to be a Service History...?

Cheers - Nick.

Provenance will be related to previous ownership, which might suggest a delimited which as your probably aware, were only sold to persons holding a race license. eg Soper, Hill, etc.
There was another SB recently for sale with 38K, listed on Saturday and sold and add removed by Monday. SB's seem to the flavor of choice at the moment!

I seem to remember when they first came out this was the case....Or was mooted around in the press blurb that ou did need a licence for it to be derestricted......Probably changed when BMW struggled to sell them all....

Person who ordered my car new as de-restricted had a race licence, not that this proves anything.

It proves one thing - he was telling the truth and he got what he ordered!

As it says on the Tin, check your Vin: http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10986
If it isn't on the list then? There is no way of knowing other than to interrogate the ECU, if the car has not had a remap (which incidentally will invalidate the warranty, Mondial also have a list of the Factory delimiteds).

What a dealer might say to move a car on, is something ongoing. I know that one or two members have been surprised when they've checked the list!

Even though it was a no cost option, I have it on good authority that BMW stuck rigidly to their original policy, a marketing ploy perhaps, but no License no delimited!
That's why there are so few; only 49 of the reputed 422 UK cars, 14 SBs and 35 SGs were Factory produced.

There is a much simpler way of checking of course! ;)

As Matt posted above, about genuine 175 (with a slight tail wind I'd guess) is all they've got folks. And yes, the speedo is way over......bending off the stop pin at that!

sold as well. apparently a collectors m3 csl ... and just my humble opinion... looks a little rough around the edges and not overly keen on black rims. The new owner will be the lucky 9th owner!!. I wonder if the provenance is any good on this one! :hahaha:

Not surprised its sold, it's underpriced :-D

Under 60k miles I'd say it should be up for £26-27k these days.

mentalnerve
06-12-2013, 03:14 PM
It was up for £27k . Obviously didnt sell for that, then the vendor put it up for £24500, and got his hand bitten off, but i reckon it probably needed work

Trouble with these cars, is if you want a decent price you have to be patient enough to hold out for a few months without lookin your nerve.

That build sheet checker confirms your lists and numbers aren't accurate. Also other things, e.g. the racing license requirement and the Mondial piece is misleading.

No M5 punching a big hole for me, just a small 1M (http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10480) and I had 165 on the gps with about 178 on the dial, but Leins was still pulling away slightly, he must have had higher octane fuel (is my excuse ayway...) :-D

Not bad for someone who was fully asleep :-D IIRC his mate Bart was the V-Maxer
High octane fuel shouldn't make that much difference but a bigger pair of danglers would ;)

Nope, Bart was acting "navigator" (AKA bar-man for the two of us). That was Topaz upholding the CSL honour against the 1M! It was all a Cointreau-induced blur for me, although I do seem to recall being upset that he didn't really push it on a bit more (despite the impending corner) ;)
