Like those sooooo much
Just hope they come down to sensible price (for me) one day, however with the limited numbers, they may just stay up there.
This might be a good alternate for less than half price

Are those things above the glove box cup holders??? Goodness gracious me, what is the world coming to.
A latte mocha hazelnut coffee held in place whilst on a sub eight lap of Nordschleife and not a drop spilt. Satisfaction guaranteed in this orange uber saloon.

Too right, the passengers nearly spilt the Bacardi & coke in the car. Those speed ramps off the early morning ferry in Rotterdam were massive :(

mmm bit of a poor ginger second cousin there compared to a GTS.
I can't see the GTS coming down as super rare and its a bonkers car. mega mega quick and capable.

Oh I brought one of those too, but he just drank it all himself! ;)
Just wondering, would anyone here, when push came to shove, actually buy a GTS compared to the competition?

Good question! No. I'd go for a GT3 RS all day long, and why the hell did they paint it Ford Focus ST chav orange? I just can't bear that colour.
If I won the lottery though - I'd buy it tomorrow.

997.1 GT3RS also came in green :smt055
EDIT .. just realised you were on about the GTS .... should have known as the 997.1 GT3RS was flymo orange rather than chav orange

Same as that, would go down the Pork RS route myself I think. 360CS probably isn't making too much more than one of these either?
The main issue I have isn't the colour or the looks though, it's more about the level of engineering. We've obviously all had the "It's not really that different to a standard M3" comments about our CSLs, and part of the "issue" is that they don't actually look too dissimilar. The beauty of the CSL generally lies beneath. However, the question I have about the GTS in comparison is, despite it looking a bit mad and having a slightly bigger engine, was there much bespoke engineering actually involved in its production?

I had a 2 day roadtrip up & around Keilder with some Porsche friends the other week and I really needed someway of keeping a bottle of water secure & stop it flying off the passenger seat at teh 1st set of bends

funny that at the time the Viper Green was less desirable than the orange....now they fetch a 10k premium on top and you can't find em anywhere.
I think they made fewer of them too.
top top motor and that is where I would spend 70-80k.

Not according to this they haven't: http://www.clubstradale.com/challenge-stradale-s-for-sale-in-the-uk-t296.html
Don't ever remember them dipping much below the £100k mark at any point

A mate of mine bought his red low-miler from Graypaul 4 years ago for under £90k. It's done 7k miles now, and probably worth £150+ minimum. Very sought after, and serious buyers are paying BIG money. Very rare and sought after car. Truly exceptional experience and will always be remembered as one of Ferrari's finest hours...

Didn't realise they were quite that high, but I can see why too TBH. Don't get me wrong, it's huge money, but would much rather one of them to all sorts of stuff at twice the price (eg McMerc SLR). What were they new in 2003, £130k?
A 360CS makes possible the greatest noise I've ever heard from a road car too. Better even than the CSL dare I say ;)

£133k was list. 996 RS's with low miles are changing hands for £100k now! CSL's are still very cheap imvho, just unfortunate BMW doesn't quite wear the same prestige as the Porsche or Ferrari. 997.2 RS - i predict will be HUGE money one day - last of the raw, non-digital, pure drivers cars. Cars that the 'driver' drives, that keep you on your toes are a thing of the past, sadly.

That's a good choice, but not sure if they will be huge money. Even the 4.0RS has found a ceiling

Today - yes. Long-term-future - i'd say look at some of the previous low-build 'specials' Porsche has produced. Who'd of thought 10-20 years ago 73RS's would be one day £300k!, 964RS's £100k (and rising), etc etc. Of course, the bubble might burst, but i think certain cars like RS's and Ferrari's 'race' models will always be good long-term investments.

Can't disagree with that, but it seems cars with less technology do far better than those with. Air cooled Porsche have done very well.
996RS's can still be bought for circa £60k, same sort of price as E30 M3 Sport Evo's from 13 years prior.
& the 6RS was twice the cost of the E30.
It is a lottery to an extent, and also about easy money. And racing history.

Give them more time - it's still the current RS model so to speak. As has already been said, it's the last of the analogue cars so it will start to appreciate in the next 3 to 5 years. Watch this space.

Looking back over some old Porsche magazines and this was for sale in 2006 - with an engine rebuild too! These are over 100k now
