Absolutely awesome day. Track stArted off damp and greasy, no turn in or grip, Dried out before lunch, then rained about 2pm, everyone went home about 2.30pm and then the last stint was all about car control and the Marshall's let everyone drift.

Car handled superbly, looking forward to some more scalping on Monday. Which has similar conditions first thing.

Cage and slicks next.

Probably two of the best track days ive done, in terms of fun. Both with damp conditions in the morning and being able to drive past the limit.

It handles better than my csl and has less body roll. Actually where is my CSL?

Havent got time for spec sheet but we have fitted in under 3 weeks,
Coilovers, new discs, pads, braided hoses, ate blue brake fluid, upgraded all bushes, wishbones, top mounts, rear control arms, manifold, de-cat, short shift, induction pipe through the headlamp, bucket seats, harnesses, tyres to 3 sets of rims, removed aircon and lots of other bits.

Cage gets fitted in a few weeks, then E36 M3 diff.

Then some other trick bits from Martin.

WHAAAAAT !?!? :119: You're using a 'Vert as a base for a Track Slag ??? :119:
Isn't that the heaviest and the least rigid of the E36 range ? Who's bright idea was that ! :119:

adem.csl
09-11-2013, 09:17 PM
Considering a coupe kerb weight is 1395 and the convert is 1495 100kg won't break the bank and considering we have taken more then 100kg away from it then no not a bad choice.also so the car is just as rigid as the coupe cos its had chassis strengthening also the cage now makes it a little tighter!!!!
This car has vurtually low body roll and handles superb on track!
Obviously its not super quick but we have modded it to gain some consideral power and it goes well!!

Fair enough mate but imagine a 4 door/2 door E36 saloon/coupe @ about 1395 kg loosing at least 100 kg with a nice rigid shell already there.
Stripped out 4 door is the way I'd go  like this one I rented a few years ago @ the Ring.

I get your point matt but i never said the car was gonna do blistering laps billy knocked it down to a .2.30 dead so its well paced considering a friend running an e36 coupe same set up did a 2.22
We still have some bits more to do its not finished yet.
Its a fun trackday car get in rag around enjoy drop the top see the sky kinda thing while the csl's hibernate and it saves some abuse and milage to so for us its good enough!!

billyboysm3

I think the point is this is cheap fun to do as many winter track days and drift days in while both csl's are off road. We didn't go for a 3 or 5 door as the car got offered to us cheap so owes us nothing.

Next track day is at brands after diff has been fitted.

When we scalp some m3s we will name and shame as it's going to happen.

Overall it's a great fun car to rag the shit out of.

Leave them alone ! As billy says it's about fun....

Seeing as you two obviously need to learn to drive; not being able to man up and handle the csl's mighty power; I think this is ideal for you both........ :gayfight:
