Hi all,
Noticed a leak in my rear view mirror the other day........read the sticky but does anyone know of anywhere in this country I can send it to get fixed?
Before you ask, no, I don't have a warranty :banghead:

My mirror is bust also - it's not leaking yet, but it's not dimming so as the car is now sorned, I've taken it out before it lets go of its gel (can be quite nasty).
I'm sending it to a guy in the US to have it fixed and a Valentine One display put in at the same time.
www.radar-mirror.com is the link.
Can't recommend him yet as I've not had the job done, but I've spoke to him on the email and he seems a decent guy.
I think he fixes mirror for $99 or so plus postage.

Will you be charged import duty on something which you already own, when it's returned?
The chap will have to put a value on the enclosure for postal insurance purposes, will that value represent the cost of repair or the cost of a replacement mirror?
Just me thinking aloud, having had my fingers burnt with a US purchase of $89 which ended up costing me £134! :bigcry:

Hi guys,
thanks for your input, but really want to use someone from the UK to fix as just don't want the hassle of sending mirror abroad......anyway, have been doing a bit of research and found this outfit on eBay.
Anyone got any experiences using them?

Possibly the same guy will do the job - the pic on eBay is also on the radar-mirror website.
I don't know who owns the original pic though, could be either or neither.

Rear view mirror has arrived back, leak all fixed..........
Id very much recommend this out fit
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1908959466...84.m1423.l2649
Its simple, buy it now on EBay, they send you a job ref number and then you simply post it to them. They send you email updating you on the work and then send it back to you all finished. All done within a week. 12 months warranty.
Spot on!

Do they fix it in a way that means it won't happen again?

They guarantee it with a 12 month warranty, other than that there is no way of saying for sure? Time will tell I suppose?
I don't have any warranty.............

They can also supply you with a replacement rather than a fix, if preferred: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190895946648?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Much easier than messing with customs on a return item from the States.
