View Full Version : A pair of M3s

After my recent purchase of a 2004 E46 M3 as my daily car, today was the first chance I have had to clean both and take a few photos of them together.

The Laguna Seca Blue car is in fantastic condition partly due to it's low miles. The interior is simply immaculate and the original exhaust system is still in great shape apart from a little rust on the mild steel clamps. I even like the OEM 18" wheels!

The drive is a little different to the CSL of course... It is certainly a nice place to be when just cruising and the comfort levels are a tad more refined than the CSL too. The exhaust note is surprisingly fruity when you put your foot down but it is when you do decide to push on a little more that the manual gearbox feels cumbersome and the brakes begin to feel a little maxed out when compared to the CSL (with APs).

It's nice to have a choice now though!

Cracking pair Rob. I also love the 18's. Had them on my M3. Only thing I would have done was rears all round. Looks proper hard, lowered a bit but will compromise it as a daily.

Pics of CSL and M3 together, it's always amazing how different the CSL looks with just a few styling alterations!

My car was built in Aug 04 - the same month that LSB was discontinued

Smurf went a couple of years ago when I chopped it for a 123d.

Gotta love that mad blue ;0) especially with the matching trim. My buddies got a Carbon Black 51 plate, and we've been meaning to get some pics of them together, only issue is they are never clean at the same time when the sun is shining ;0)

That doesn't look quite like my car colour - strange light perhaps in that shot?

Totally agree with G-dog ... that's very strange light and very poor colour reproduction of that pic... here's what LSB looks like in full summers sunshine, photographed few days ago @ Bartlett Open Day
Superb colour on the E46 M3 IMHO which incidentally was the launch colour of the E46 M3 back in 2001 :supz:

Is it true that the E46 M3 is actually as quick round a track as the CSL but they put a slow ring time in on purpose to make the CSL look good.

Maybe I should find one in the flesh to have a look at then.

There's one locally that I have assumed wasn't LSB until I seen that green pic and then made the decision it is LSB and I didn't like it.

As always, you need to see these colours in the flesh / different lights. Never looks green though?
