Does anyone know if there is a special Airbag module that the CSL runs or is it a standard E46 module with coding?

Trying to figure out a airbag issue on a standard to clone conversion.

Cheers

HAHA funny.

No seriously, as us Europeans are much lighter than average American we need smaller airbags.

I am referring to the controlling module. I removed the side airbags as I have the door panels. The car of course now is angry that the side airbags are gone.

We have used the BMW pro tools to code out the door airbags but I still get a airbag fault code. The person doing the coding thinks maybe it is a faulty airbag module.

I thought the airbags were run through the DME? So to the question is, anyone here know how the airbag setup is done and can they assist in resolving the light issue?

Just unplug the module near the handbrake. No more light

Won't work that way shim. As the light needs to come on and stay on for a couple of seconds then go out. It's a self test thing.

Best bet is find a friendly mot station. They like cakes and donuts:smokin:

yeah anytime I touch the airbags the battery is disconnected. Seen enough videos of what could happen if you do not.

Do you guys think the issue could be a faulty unit? We coded it out but that of course is not a guarantee that it will stay.

I have an airbag module from my Csl that I can sell.
It's sat on my desk at work.

Just get a resistor and stick it in the plug.

Done it many of times.

3ohms off the top of my head.

Tried the resister but then again it could have been wrong omhs or not installed correctly in the plug.

The info I used was as described below. Should I use a different resister or?

Thank you all in advance for the assistance.

inserted a 2.0 ohm 1/4 watt resistor w/5% resistance

I'll check my toolbox in the morning. See what the resistor is.
