I have seen this car (Michaels- 1cosmicboy) in the flesh.
It only has 3000 miles on it, and I can confirm that the work Michael has put into this car is nothing short of OUTSTANDING. He has had the car 12-18 months I think, and I believe he is the 2nd owner.
It is a credit to him. :notworthy: Even the garage its in makes my car look dirty!!!! :moan:
You really could eat off the brake discs, wheel arces, underneath, etc, they are that clean. :119:
I am not over selling it, this car is top drawer concours, never mind "showroom" condition.
I am sure Michael will be along soon enough. A nicer guy you could not meet, and I know he plans on showing it in 2009.
I am all for CSL's being driven for their intended use, but its nice to know there are a examples like this out there.

That is unreal and yes, I agree it might be a waste but it does look fantastic.
All the nuts, bolts, hoses etc are immaculate. Mental. I struggle to keep my windows clean, never mind my nuts...

hi guys ,
can understand what you guy,s mean when you say its a shame not to use it but can i give you all a bit of my story first .
ive been in the motortrade since 16 so never had alot of money ,but always been into nice cars ,mainly been into rallying and sold a lovely gp 4 escort rs1800 to buy mt csl .think ive got the racing bug out of my system after some hairy outings on otterburn millitary ranges (these single lane roads make ur track in germany seem like a sunday ride out , i promise ). spent a couple of years working for a mate called malcolm at msport so been in and had a few lessons from some quick drivers.
i met and worked for a guy in blackpool ,restoring his ex roger clark escort and he dealt in m3,s ,gt,2 etc ,one day he gave me a drive in a thing called a csl ,id never heard of one ,it had three hundred miles on it and i fell in love but it was up for 60 grand .and it was the wrong colour , sorry mark . :blalalala:
it broke my heart to sell my rallycar ,but when the one in the pictures came up with 3000 miles on i new it was now or never .ive never been able to have a car to keep for good and another to run about in ,till now .
ive always fancied showing a car so im gonna do a few shows this year and then next year im gonna do a few track days and show you ladies how its done  ,put all my tuition from mcrae ,vatanen ,wilson etc to good use .i take my hat off to all you guys for getting out there and enjoying ur cars, just let me get this show thing out of my system then ill use it like it was meant for :notworthy:
cheers michael
Sounds good Michael! Look forward to seeing it on Track soon!

Thats awesome, Id love to have mine that clean but I like driving it too much. Perfect summer days only Cosmicboy eh?
I wish I could have afforded a brand new one when they came out, cos I intend on keeping it forever and it would be nice to be the first and only owner of the car.
Is it an optionless version?

hi
bought it with 3000 on the clock over a year ago ,but it hadnt been looked after .rich father loaned the money to his son and then son got sick of paying the money back,so father sold it.i got word it was going on the market so i got over early and put a deposit on before id sold my rally car.had a nervous couple of weeks trying to find a buyer but i got it sorted .
csl has been stripped except engine and box to get it mint ,quite alot of winter use in those 3000 miles cos found salt residue behind under trays etc . couple of months more work and it,ll be spot on .
it has basic radio cd option and air con which i would rather not have.got a few rare bits from a mate who knows a bloke in germany ,so we,ll see what kind of reception it gets come the summer, bloody hard work tho ,full day working on cars then come home to do the same :bigcry:
