This is an email copy and pasted that I received from Gurcharn from Elitedetailing who came and worked on my car for a full 2 days. I thought I had a clean car before hand but my God I could not believe the difference he made. I would 100% recommend him, extremely knowlegable, dedicated (to the point of obsession!) and a thoroughly nicde guy to boot. Anyway read on :

Hi guys, I had the pleasure of working on this car recently. A couple of before shots: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1271.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1272.jpg The car was initially soaked with: R222 Total Auto Wash (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=3&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1273.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1274.jpg The wheels were soaked in with R222 High Performance Wheel Gel Cleaner (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=7&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) and then washed with the hot water/Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=2&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid) mix Meguiars Deep Pile Microfibre Wash Mitt (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=77&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) Boars Hair Wheel Brush (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=100&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) I probably spent a good 20 mins on each wheel making sure it was spotless including behind the spokes, calipers and the rest of all the nooks and crannies. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1284.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1275.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1276.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1277.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1279.jpg The shampoo I use, Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=2&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid) which is quite simpley the best car shampoo in the world. A quick picture after the wash: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1285.jpg It was then dried with: Ultra Safe Drying Towel (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=44&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) and compressed air. Then the CSL was given a good claying session with Zaino Z-18 Clay System (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=8&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) and Meguiars Last Touch (Drying Aid) (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=53&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) used as a lube. A couple of action shots: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1288.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1289.jpg After the claying the CSL's paint was thoroughly inspected and then Paint Corrected (http://www.elitedetailing.co.uk/content/cm000026.htm) http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1293.jpg Unfortunatley I couldn't get good focus on the scratches and swirls but you can kind of see them here: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1306.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1305.jpg And here are some pictures once work had been completed after 2 full days of work. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1326.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1327.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1314.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1315.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1311.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1328.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1338.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1334.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1322.jpg The wheels were sealed with a couple of coats of Zaino Z2 Pro (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=13&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1291.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1290.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1336.jpg Lovely Carbon Roof now scratch free and mirror sharp: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1323.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1320.jpg The weather was pretty terrible and the sky extremely dull, although we got a few shots in: http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1348.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1346.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1356.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1351.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1352.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1347.jpg Thanks for looking. Thanks folks,

I guess depending on what you want done to your car, the condition it's in, your location etc will determine the price.

It's probably easier to contact him individually as prices will obviously vary www.elitedetailing.co.uk .

Put it this way "You get what you pay for" To get the same results don't be expecting it to be anything like what your valet up the road charges.

What I will say is that he turns up when he says he will. He has everything he needs in his van. He will also go through step by step what he is actually going to do to your car which makes you feel confident. He doesn't stop untill HE is satisfied with your car regardless how well you think it looks throughout the stages.

When he is finished he will also show you how to clean your car for best results and how to avoid creating swirlmarks etc.

He's just a top guy and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. He is even better than his reputation suggests.

S&B out.

I would say for a 2 day detailing session (inc paint correction) you are looking at £700+, tad expensive imho as there are cheaper and just as good detailers about :)

I guess it's all relative. I have had other cars detailed before that would have been in the same "before" condition i.e. well looked after and routinely washed and waxed by myself. After the detailer has finished I'm scratching my head wondering why am I handing over cash to someone when my car looks for the most part the same!

Whereas when Gurcharn had finished I was blown away. I showed some of my collegues my car after also (who have no interest in cars) and they could not believe the difference either, which for me is the ultimate test. Most "civilians" couldn't care less about their car as long as it looked clean, and would happily bring their car to the local drive through car wash. (yes they had seen it before) And to see their faces after was priceless.

So really a thread like this could go on for eternity in my opinion he is the best, having experienced a lot of other recommended detailers, and I'm fortunate that I think he is good value for money. I guess it's just down to opinion after that as you quite rightly pointed out - "imho"

£700.... :119: ...everyone to their own....but thats just far too much dosh good or not. I could understad someone paying 100k on a car spending that much, but just couldn't justify paying that when at the end of the day the first time you take it out it gets dirty again......again just my opinion.....

@ AndyK

Its not a matter of the car becoming dirty again as it inevitably will... Its the fact that if you maintain correct washing technique even a quick wash will bring the car back to the post detailed shine.

You are infact smoothing out the paint when machine polishing, so as long as you top up on wax regulary and wash it correctly it can last 6+ months

@ S&B

I suppose you do go on peoples reccomendations, and others standards are not always up to your own. I know from being on DetailingWorld for a number of years and machine polishing myself that there are a lot of "chancers" out there who charge the earth for no benefit to the car.

However there are some very good detailers in the reasonable price range imo of £350 for a full correction. But if you found a detailer you can trust/happy with then i suppose £700 is ok... just not for me

Look great tho! :smokin:

As I said it's a debate that could go on forever. I personally believe that it was money well spent and will help to prolong my cars body work for years to come, as well as making it look great.

The price is debateable but I guess you could have the same argument on brake kit's AP's, Alcons, Hi-spec etc. It's all down to choice and how much you are willing to spend - recommendations (as I'm sure very few people would have tried more than 2 options). You could go for a cheaper alternative and if your happy with that then excellent. Just thought ye might be interested in seeing my car after the detail.

Elitedetailing did a 10 hour round trip to get to my car.

I wonder how much people will spend on new shiny carbon bits on the group buy thread. I know my name will be on it.

excellent work carried out on the car,

as a future classic, if not already a one, i wonder if the detail extends to other areas of the CSLs, like the engine bay or the underneath, will we see a CSL in such events as concours.
Or do most owners use their cars for track days, just curious

And the amount I use it , everyday , snow , rain, sun ... in sport on max setting , it gets covered within days anyhow , neighbours think im obsessed anyway , as im the only one who does'nt use the polish !! :hahaha:

I agree S&B. I'm a a bit of a tart when it comes to the car and would rather pay for the best than scrimp on stuff. I will be getting mine detailed in the next month or so :-D

If it makes you happy - spend the cash :smt052
