Nice lap
Easily doable IMO, I'm a novice with 1 arm and reckon I could do that in same spec car
The chassis mods make the biggest difference. Notice the cage. My csl with cage was sublime at the ring.

One things for sure he's not hanging about! He diving it like he's done it everyday for the past 5 years. I suspect he's a professional race driver, having a weekend off. :notworthy:

BMW when they broke the 8min barrier with the CSL in O3, it was said to have been 7.58mins, this may well have been a part of the Sales Pitch at the time. :-D
Since then however Horst Von Saumer has more recently set a time of 7.50mins, again in what was reputed to have been a standard CSL, whereas 'Loaded' was a Super-Charged track car and set a time of 7.22mins.

These are all times for a full lap, Not BTG
And afaik, loaded-CSL was supercharged, not a turbo-engine

I always thought it was speeded up, but I've just got back from there an got an 8:02 BTG and now I believe him. He's definetly got slicks on as the grip he gets is unreal even when he messes the lines up as my Cups weren't giving anywhere near that much grip
Just a man with huge balls really

He was also lifting in the back section in places where I was pinned to the floor.
As I said I'm a novice, there are plenty better drivers with more ring experience who could go much quicker than me.

Where do bmw say it did it in 7:58, I've never heard this? they always quote Von Saurma's 7:50Full lap ( I think that's the industry lap too missing out the pit straight.)

Hi,
Do the Maths, and next time your at
the Ring take a 8km section, even the
run for home, and see if you can average
over 109 mph for that 8km section.
Never seen many than can, which always
Puts any Video/film footage into
its real world perspective.
Regards,
The Gorilla.
So....the 7.50 Industry lap is 20 secs longer than BTG OracleJim ??? ...... I kinda thought a CSL was 7.30 BTG.....and hence have made it my life mission to beat it in the Schirmernator

say a Full Full lap is 8minutes dead
industry 'full' lap misses out start finish straight = 7:53ish
Btg lap is 7:32 to 7:38ish depending how quick your car is on the straights :smokin:

from wikipedia
Full lap
A full lap of the Nordschleife, bypassing the modern GP track, is 20.832 km (12.944 mi) long.
Sport Auto lap
During the industry testing sessions in which sport auto records its "Supertest", the track can not be traveled at full speed past "Tribüne 13" (T13, grandstand 13) in order to allow safe access from the old exit/entrance there. Thus, sport auto Supertests cover only about 20.6 km (12.8 mi), which in average yields a 7 s shorter lap time compared to a full lap.
