So, on the back of my handbrake issues (too scared to post back on that one!) and 3 AM alarm call I now have...

It was hot in Mid Wales today, like so much hotter than it usually gets here.

After the lunch time run to the pub with my parents today, we come back, have a few sherberts  and watch the tennis.

Cut forward to now and noticed that my roof trims have lifted in the heat :banghead:

My car is of the faster colour that also absorbs more solar radiation (read SB as opposed to SG)

Nearside more than drivers, looks like clean dabs of glue underneath, still tacky.

I have temporarily taped then down with some duct tape, as I am travelling back first thing tomorrow.

Is it just a case of putting down some glue with a heated glue gun?

My car had this issue when I purchased it.

The body shop put some windscreen glue on it and it worked well.

Just dont put glue in all the length of the trim in case you want to remove it one day.

Cheers,
Alex

I always said that the 'less fast' colour was a smarter choice! Much more subtle and classy too.

Update on this - at Silverstone this weekend, they both decided to lift up at the rear again.

Will be off the local stealers tomorrow (Knights south staffs).

Anyone know the part number and approx supply cost for the roof trim strips for a CSL?

If they are not too expensive I may get new ones fitted, as taking the old ones off might make them crease a little

Maybe this is a solution, my roof trims also lifted. (I will fix it at some point)

Update:

Just has a couple of price options from the local dealer:

Use windscreen glue to affix the roof rails - estimated £192.00

New roof rails supply and fit x2 £612.00 !!

Above prices include VAT

Anyone now if the rails come pre painted or primer only?

As far as know the colour of the rails is the same for SB and SG.

my drivers side roof or door trim at the roof level has also started to come off due to the heat :(
