Help Needed...... Photos of charity dinner

The issue of dinner guests and payment has resurfaced!


I need some proof of how many people attended the Charity Dinner. Has anybody got a photo/photos of the dinner/raffle/auction so we can prove how many people were present?

Nothing else needed....just proof!

Or I am lumbered with €480 bill.

This is dissapointing Shimmy, if there are people who didn't square the hotel up with regards to the meal then at least they should man up and tidy the whole thing up with yourself mate.

I know we did, for sure it was on the invoice.

You could do it two ways mate, pay it there and then to the waiter or put it on your room. We opted for the latter, and it appeared on the invoice.

I saw the waiters going round, asking everyone, so what is the hotel saying?

Do they know how many people attended? It should be relatively easy to work out from the rooms we booked?

Or is it because we wanted more steak!!!!

That is disappointing. However German payment systems sometimes difficult to understand, so doubt it will be a deliberate attempt to have a free dinner.

Once the dust has settled and you are still short, perhaps we can all contribute to make up the shortfall.

They are saying only 60soemthing attended (by that I guess they mean paid) whereas I'm retry sure we have 80+ in which case it's there problem.

What I really need is someone with good eyesight to check out the auction pics when everybody was in the room and count how many people.

I think I can bat this back to them as:

1. It's a month later and how on earth could I check if they collected from everyone
2. There were 80+ not 60+
3. I haven't got €480 as I've just stopped my card :)

Thats strange, by the time i got my 1st drink he asked about my room #. Didn't have a room, charged me for dinner plus drink.

Right, that's me off the hook. Have now checked the paperwork, I have a Leonardo restaurant charge on the 26th May of 78 euros (for two) on our bill...and separate drinks charges.

Couldn't remember paying for that at all...

James & myself paid cash to the waiter at the time...(as I vaguely remember did John, Ben & Brett), however my bill only shows one €39 as Restaurant and not two(James & myself)...any help?

As we had only card we gave the waitress the card which she took to another part of the restaurant and thats the only time the card has been out of sight. They didnt use chip and pin so was just a signature damage done luckily insurance covered it all well that ends well

Hey Shimmy... my + 1 (flatout) aka Rich had to fly home early so didn't make the dinner after all.
IIRC Karbonkids + 1 was a no show, so that's another - 1 there.

I will then have to settle any remaining myself (unless they get most of the outstanding monies in.

Anyway, if there remains anything to pay, I suggest we divide it among the people that attended at the dinner.

We are already more than grateful for your co-organisation of this event. :)

They brought one receipt.
Then the guy took our receipt and brought back another one (for one person).
I asked one more time for a second one but he didn't bring it.
If they are counting who didn't pay on this basis, I think they got it all wrong.

I told you a lie, just pulled out the invoice to go and pay this and discovered it had two pages. (Oops)
78 Euro on pg2 for the restaurant for me and the old boy.

Like I said I was sure Id told them to put it onto the room (and they did) :whistle: was just me being a fudgey and not reading it properly. Add to that the manager having a hissy fit and it was just thrown into the bag and never really looked at.

Worst bit of the whole invoice though......27 Euro dram of whisky :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:

I'm happy to do as Alx has said once the final amount has been costed. NO ONE should be out of pocket for this especially yourself considering the amount of work you put into getting this to happen.

The feedback I gave to the hotel in their email-feedback-request-form was very bad because this is what they deserve.
I paid (like many others) parking and they told me twice to take a stroll because the parking was full.
Who sells prepaid parking and then lets cars with non-prepaid parking cards to enter and fully occupy it ??? :moan:

When we paid for the room I explicitly told them, the two of us were at the dinner and paid cash. Although we insisted for a second receipt, they gave us only one.
The response was "that's fine, do not worry about it".

To add here I clearly saw the guys from Bulgaria paying the waiters.

I somehow think that there wasn't anyone that did not pay for the dinner.

PS : shimmy if you need help talking to them please let me know. I can call them and talk to them for hours, no problem with that...

I know it makes little odds now just found my Leonardo Invoice and on it, I have Restaurant @ 78 (so me +1) I remember the waiter coming around and just told them to stick onto my room.

I also paid in cash for my dinner and my +1 handed over his Euro's in cash, we didn't receive receipts from the waiters who took the money (in hindsight this was obviously an oversight). It would be interesting to find out from everyone how many paid in cash and how many charged to the room, just to try and work out what percentage of the cash has gone astray.

I don't believe that their were folk at the dinner event that would have considered it to be a freeby and wormed out of paying when it was clear that the waiters were making their way round each table seeking payment either to the rooms or via cash.
