I assume there may be a few interested individuals here?
This plate is currently up for auction with the DVLA - E46 CSL. Auction ends 1st July. Almost wish I still had a CSL to put it on!

I reckon it'll do 3k bid.
The CSL 3M is a nice plate too..
Have fun bidding guys. Think this really is only getting started. The plate BMW 1M ended going for around 8.5K. I had my eye on JAN 1M and that ended up going for around 7k. Crazy prices but people are willing to pay them. Did end up buying E82 BMW for £400 though,in an auction last year, might be worth something in the future.

There's only one 'E46 CSL' same as 'S54 CSL', and the 'M3 CSL' plates, anything up to 5K+ I would think, because of its significance within the community. Deep pockets required!

IIRC 'M3 CSL' was exchanging hands for circa £13k a year or two ago... :119:

Is there many uk csl owners with csl style regs? There's any amount of them for sale from £250 on dvla site.

It was me that requested this be made available. DVLA can do this if a reg hadn't yet been released.
I was hoping I'd grab it without anyone noticing...out of my price range now, so keep it between CSLR do not to drive it too high; plate deserves to be with an enthusiast owner and not a speculator.

I've done the same with a couple that are on this auction too.
A reg company wanted to charge me £250 to do what took me 10 mins on the phone to dvla to do. They where advertising the plate, I rang to buy and was then told it wasn't released yet.

I was fairly lucky to F1 CSL then when it released, but I guess E46 CSL is a more desirable plate. Will be interesting to see what it actually fetches in the end.

I doubt BMW GB would waste their money on a vanity plate.

I think I'm right in saying, probably the ultimate CSL plate: 'M3 CSL' was once owned by BMW GB and they sold it for something like £16/£18K a couple of years ago. There's commitment for you? :smokin:

CSL 3M was only so high as I really wanted it. As did someone else. I missed out by a tenner, but if I carried on who knows where it would have ended up.
Shame, but never mind!

Couple of well positioned black screws, look again and it reads CSL BM, making some sense :smokin: otherwise it's for dyslexic Cecil owners ;)

I think its because the CSL is at the beginning that I thought it looked better.
The E46 CSL one looked too similar to a £138 one to me.
They both looked good, but just thought the CSL 3M was more eye catching.
I would have loved DTM 190E though, that would look cool as feck on a well sorted 190e cossie.

I likes e46 csl as that's what I'd say it is but 2.5k was my limit. Still might get a plate but a 250 quid job I am thinking about.
