How much slip angle does the mtrack allow before intervening?
I find that it cuts in almost instantly when the car starts sliding,I understood that it would allow a good bit of slip angle?
Only have the car a few weeks

Anyone?
Not looking for a technical answer just is mine a bit over protective:hahaha:
I was under the impression it was suitable for track use, I find it much too intrusive and think I would have to switch dsc off on track.

I had the same problem its not the best as it stops wheel spin as well out the hairpin

DSC OFF SPORT ON GEARBOX IN SETTING 6

I did less than 1 lap in mtrack mode until I just turned dsc off.... The only reason I was using it as I'd never done a track day in rwd..

Hi Dave,
My experience of M-trac is that it seems to operate more on wheel speed disparity rather than slip angle, so sometimes it will let you slide quite reasonable angles (if the front and rear wheels aren't rotating at hugely different speeds) and others (when you mash the throttle), it will cut power with virtually no angle what-so-ever, if it has "lit the back tyres up". Consequently I run it EVERYWHERE with the DSC off as it has such a nice diff, chassis and steering :).

If the road is dry, the car is so forgiving and easy to drive (if you're used to rear wheel drive) that turning it off means that as long as you don't give a big lift when it slides, it is like a big go-kart and self-centres with the appropriate amount of opposite lock.

I'd imagine its completly useless on track alright.

Excellent explenation:thumbs: thanks very much.
I think I will run with dsc off all the time like you if it's dry, that's what I had ended up doing anyway,I just thought that mtrack was designed for that purpose, I was just expecting too much from it I suppose.
My car has sport mode on as the default setting so some previous owner must have got that coded,I'd imagine he had dsc off then also.
Does anyone drive with sport mode off?

I use it all the time, it's great :blalalala:
On the road shimmy? I just find it so unpredictable, maybe I need to try it more

I find it ok mostly but I ain't that quick though! I think if it's flashing to much may be you're on the other side of grip levels a little may be, unless you're just wanting to be loon and at over £600 a pair rubber ain't cheap!

It can be hindrance though aswell as help when it comes to keeping it on the black stuff. If you apply corrective as it does you both get in a muddle! Slalom on Ice tiles etc are a good place to find out what's what.

i think driving flat out id be hard pushed to drive 0.5s faster with Mtrack OFF compared to on. I think ONeil is the same.

Me too, if you are smooth it is fine, won a 2 hour race with it turned on.

I think I understand now,it is optimised for fast smooth lap times,
I just don't like the way it intervenes so early and upsets the balance of the car when pushing on.
Thanks all for the replies

I would clarify that I have yet to try my car with Cups on, so it might be far less intrusive with more grippy tyres, but with the Michelin Super Sports, it is a joy to drive with DSC switched off, but having owned a 515bhp rwd Cosworth, with only 235 tyres on the back, I don't mind a bit of rear wheel steering :).

Took your advice and went for a drive last night with dsc off and S6.wow it's just sublime, handles so well and is so controllable.
Dsc off in the dry for me now

Im a complete novice when it comes to track but i was at brands last nite with billy and once i had my tuition and learnt the track i decided to try it with m track mode on and to be honest it helped me alot with my braking with regards to abs kicking in on hard braking. My front brakes are much stronger than my rears so at certain points i had abs kick in and throw me off cos i worried about it not allowing me to slow quick enough.i enjoyed it soo much and learnt alot too the car is great even for a novice

I use m track on the road when it's wet, otherwise I can't get out of junctions/roundabouts especially on a slight incline.
