Homecoming DVD - Numbers & extra photos

I/we need an idea of numbers - and as mattCSLnut suggested, ideally will be the number of folk happy to give a charity donation of £10/£15 in keeping with the whole trip...

Right folks - I need anyone who wants ADDITIONAL photos OR VIDEOS (or Hi-Res photos) that have not been posted (or linked to) on this site to PM me for my address so I can get them organised - ASAP please :119:

Figured the best option would be to use a poll counter as a good indication of numbers for DVD production?

Essentially the DVD is a web based Photo Album which allows you to reference (in one place) currently:

1709 trip photos (from 20 Forum members). It also has a search function and slideshow facility.

12 videos relating to either the trip, to M cars or the csl directly.
(Including the BMW tv video and a few Top Gear videos of the csl)

Reformatted web pages to various articles related to the cslregister, the csl or the Trip, such as the Pistonheads, WorldCarForum & Telegraph articles on the www etc.

I will put up another post on this thread this afternoon (sorry work is getting in the way) giving a better idea of what you're going to be getting for your money :-D

I've sent Chris_CSL a message to see if his offer of assistance is still on the table.

I'm not going to promise anything but I'll see what I can get together from my backups middle to end of July and take it from there when I get home next as my past history is to say the least shit!

Yes back racing, returned from Spa and a quick holiday - Spa didn't go all that well considering we got the lap record, had fueling issues at the 2hr mark whilst running 2nd. Got it sorted and finished 12th in the end, disappointing really, Aragon in September to look forward to which is always a great time.

Bike projects are getting back together slowly too so will post m/c piccies when I get home for those interested in 2 wheels...

I'm on a call-out at the moment up in Norfolk and have started re-assembling all the photos for the dvd, hopefully have something together by the w/e to review subject to work?

The other good news is CSL is out of storage and is currently being looked after by James (who came with me to Munich). He now works down at Chandlers BMW Main Dealer in Portslade, he's now enjoying married life with offspring! ...works fast that lad ;-) Oil change and the air bag recall... I'm having real trouble with synchro mesh on 3rd so BMW are having a look at it for me, haven't had any problems reproducing it, awaiting an answer wrt to warranty, fingers crossed!

Not forgotten, I just haven't gotten home yet! Flew up to Scotland instead of heading South!

GREAT NEWS: A new gearbox has been fitted under warranty, oil contained a large percentage of diluted synchromesh, argh! ...feeling blessed as full cost appears to be in the region >£6k w/out warranty - Soooo relieved and I cannot express the gratitude I feel toward BMW, and apparantly mine was the last remaining gearbox held in the UK ...so be careful out there!

WRT Photos I have managed to collate what I believe are all the Munich images and will try and assemble into some order this w\e as I'm going to be in a huge backlog of jobs when I get home at the end of the month, let alone picking up CeSIL ;-)

Sorry to read this John.....sadly it's not a rare occurrence.

5 years ago I put cesil in for an oil change @ my local stealers.

I asked if the car could be kept in the workshop overnight and not left in the compound. No problem.....

arrived in the am to collect and was told by the service desk "a tech had reversed a 3 series into my car whilst attempting to drive onto a service ramp" :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Yes I know, hell has frozen over!

Without further excuses, I've moved back home from Scotland, and am back in love with CeSiL (for good - I resigned/retired!).

Over Easter I resurrected all the backups I created years ago, downloaded all the dropbox content and have finished the 'DVD' of the 10th 'Homecoming Trip'.
I've PM'd and emailed Admin for advice on who is most suitable to provide some sort of review - anybody got any ideas? Site seems quiet?

Essentially I'd like one or two people with a little spare time willing to take a look at what I've put together and let me know their thoughts regarding content and possibly copyright?

There are now(due to time) a few further questions which are likely(such as DVD/memory stick/download etc.), but for now I'd just like some feedback on content and get this completed...

I have a dropbox download available now which I can share which is a zip of the content(lite) which is about 400meg. Or of course I could post a DVD?

I'm uploading a final copy to my dropbox now, should be about an hour it's a 3.4Gb zip file that you can download and unzip anywhere you like, open the index.html file in the root folder, any problems let me know...
