Hi guys
Owned my CSL for a fortnight and love it. However, if in auto mode, which I rarely do by the way, it can make some rather loud clunking just before it changes down as I approach a roundabout at sensible speed.
Is this a characteristic of the gear box, or a developing fault?

Is this a characteristic of the gear box, or a developing fault?if it doesn't do it in sport mode I would think it was ok,as you know it's not an auto box and does clunk a bit.:-D

Early days of ownership syndrome my friend :goodman: getting use to the mechanical nature of the SMG ... try using the Manual mode more and the clanking should subside. By all accounts it's the diff / drive train clattering about in disgust for being in AUTO mode ;). If in doubt, set it in S6 mode (DCT off) and give it some beans on a quite, open road. If it still persists after that and you're seriously concerned, speak to Emma @ Elms Cambridge and get it booked in with Gareth for a health check

Most likely backlash from the viscous diff....they all do it!
