Just came to get a few more quotes, altering/adding mods and was curious who actually notifies their insuranceC what mods are added, such as APs, exhaust, suspension, remap etc.. make a big difference in price to yours and does a remap affect you warranty?

Yes.

When i had a Stage 2 done, Admiral said i wasn't covered anymore! After some head scratching, i reverted to Stage 1 tune and they were happy - only after they had added over £100 to my premium for a measly 17bhp gain... tw*ts :moan:

Full AP fit added another £30 - despite being better brakes! :smt017

Oh, and they'll only replace standard parts in the event of a claim...

Gonna punt Admiral soon and get an annual policy with track day cover included.

Definately disclose, seen far too many claims rejected for failing to notify the insurance company. :bigcry:

Any excuse to save money and they will

I can't get insured for mods being under 25... and i have APs...

So you aren't properly insured then?

Since when does age have an effect on if you can get insured with Mods? There are loads of modified cars that are driven perfectly legally by people under 25. My old insurer wouldn't cover APs so I left mid policy which cost me a fortune but meant that I was insured - you could do the same.

I've no idea, but that is the rule with the insurer i'm with.

So you chose to not be properly insured rather than change insurers? Mental.

All declared here, not worth having a claim refused because of it, though in my youth i've not declared and luckly not needed to claim.

Thats my view.

Some tit reversed into my old car and it had a loud non-standard (but manufacturer) exhaust and the insurance assessor didn't notice/care about there. They are there to see the damage ultimately, and are sub contractors. I think as long as you keep things subtle then its all a bit of scaremongering.
