Hi,

There are a lot of replica CSL rims on the market. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and would reccomend a particular brand over another (or not reccomend a particular brand)?

Reason I am asking is that a friend wants a set for his Z4, but doesn't want to pay 1000 odd for used CSL rims, would prefer 400-500 for a new set of reasonable quality reps.

Cheers!

I bought a set off Ebay back in 2010 for a E93 3 series. They looked great when they arrived but when i got them to my tyre man he said all were border line buckled...........the amonut of balacing weights required was ridiculous!:clown:
Having said that, once balanced i felt no wobbles or anything untoward?
They never cracked and lasted me out........

I think the old adage applies.........you get what you pay for!

A mate had some on his Z4M and all was good for a while, then he buckled one somehow.
So he then forked out for the genuine article.
You pays your money....etc

Yep, but then you can buckle an oem wheel easily.

I know people who have cracked reps in 5 minutes on a small pot hole. And I know people who run reps on track bouncing over kerbs at 100mph and they've been fine. Hit and miss I suppose. I'm asking myself the same question at the moment for track wheels.

Among all the detecting activities, gold metal detecting is the most interesting one. It can not only relax both your body and mind , but also give you a big fortune if you are lucky enough.Next time if you feel bored, you can pick up the best metal detector (http://www.detectorall.com) and have a try.
WTF is this not in the wrong section or even forum

Cheers for the replies everyone.

I have also managed to buckle a csl rim pretty easily, so am not so convinced you need to have genuine BBS CSL rims on a Z4. Good quality replicas should be good enough.

My mate is looking into all the reccomendations, especially after Lespons quoted 500 for a refurb on Z4 split rims!

Niche conversions are piss by the way, if you want a set of vmr's go to vmr direct or european auto source.

The vmr v703 is a copy of the csl wheel, they look nice in gunmetal too.
