Hi guys ,
Does anyone know the part no : of the plastic cover which protects the bottom of engine and and oil cooler etc .i have broken mine and need to replace it but am struggling to find the number online even the correct name would be a great help .

Thanks for that link chrid .The item labelled Front aggregate protective plate 51718218384 sounds the most logical but doesn't look quite the right shape.I was hoping someone had also replaced there's previously, thanks

Correct part number is 51717895091

It is item 1 in the diagram above.

I know this because I've priced one up before ;) (you can take your broken one off and double check the part number on it).

To read those diagrams correctly you kinda of have to imagine them in an exploded view (as in how they would come off the car) and also reference it to the part next to it (so item 26 which you've identified is next to the exhaust tunnel heatshield - which would be in the completely wrong place). Also most of these diagrams will have multiple parts from different model variations (they will usually be stacked on top of each other to show the same placement of the different parts for different models) - the diagrams also don't always show exactly what the parts actually look like - sometimes they are just a representation of a generic item.

Massive thanks NZ M3 .I can get the part ordered up .I previously spoke to BMW to identify the part and was going around in circles,really appreciate your help .
