I'm moving abroad with work so this is regrettably for sale. I've been trying to put off selling it as long as possible but it makes no sense to keep it at this stage. I'm not in a rush to sell, I'll happily put it in to storage as values are increasing steadily.

The car was formerly a UK car with registration GX53VOU. It is very easy to put it back on a UK plate for any UK buyers. It's now on Irish registration 03 D 120181

The car is in mint condition inside and out, it has just been detailed in recent months.

The car has a Full AUC BMW Warranty until August 2013 with Zero Excess! (Extendable thereafter)

It has Red AP racing Brakes, front and rear with pagid RS29 pads and performance friction discs. This set up gives amazing stopping power.
It has a full service history including the all important running in service and had a recent oil change in Fahy's garage.

I had the car looked over by Elms BMW UK prior to purchase in January 2012 and it was found to be faultless aside from a slight clutch issue which the seller informed me of (common clutch slur problem). This was then replaced with a brand new clutch. It also had 6 new coil packs recently.
I just fitted 2 new Michelin Supersport tyres to the rear, fronts have loads of life left.

The car needs absolutely nothing. Anything needed has been replaced under warranty. In my ownership it has had a new rear view mirror and a new drivers seat frame under warranty. The sub frame was inspected and is perfect (common problem).
It has Aircon, Xenons and PDC.

This is a faultless example with just 53k miles.

It has a new NCT (Irish version MOT).

The price is £29k for UK buyers. It's slightly more for anywhere else as I can get a tax refund if exporting to the UK.

The car is located in Dublin. 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the port. Happy to export anywhere in the world at buyers cost or collect potential buyers at the airport.

I'm sure you'll be sorry to see her go. Let us know how you get on with the VRT refund if it goes back to the UK?

Cheers Niall. The VRT refund looks pretty grim. The website estimates it at €1700 minus a €500 processing fee. Robbing us on the way in and the way out!:bigcry:

Yes, I think I know you. I live in Hitchin. Friends with Sanjay who has a CSL. Wife is now looking in the loft for all the original paperwork when I bought the car from Specialist Cars in Stevenage. The car I wished I'd never sold. Would love to buy it back. Got a Valencia Orange 1M at the moment.

Ah ha! Looks like you looked after it very well sir, your name is all over the history file;). It's surely testament to the CSL that 10 years on you still have a passing interest. Are you considering buying again?

That was the letter I received from BMW when I tried to get on the list for a CSL and was more or less told 'tough'. Most of the CSLs were reserved by speculators who thought the car would sell for around £50k new. This letter came to me before they announced they were going to be £60k and when the speculators found out they all jumped ship. All of a sudden I went from sixth on the list to second at Specialist Cars and BMW then couldn't leave me alone. I was one of the very few original customers that paid £60k for a new CSL and many of the original 440+ CSLs then sat at Thorne unsold. To my dismay they then reduced the price to around £50k for a new one at the beginning of 2004.
I treasured this car from new and had the AP brakes fitted at Murketts. When I sold the car it had carbon mirrors, steering wheel, gear shift surround, paddle flaps and OEM carbon radio blank.
I would like to buy it back but the wife said I would have to sell the 1M. I couldn't bring myself to do that so sorry I'm not in the market for it.:(

Great to see an original owner popping up after all these years. Hope I can keep hold of mine forever. Next plan is get her front end tarted up (Armourfend looking a little tired now) and fit some cups for the OEM look. Im doing 1k per year max so may as well run cups.

Good luck with the sale. good ad. Mine is almost the exact spec of yours, brakes mileage etc. I had no shortage of interest when I advertised and later bottled. Im sure it wont hang around for long.

I think mine's the only Black one in the south? There's at least two oop north.

Jeezz the VRT's dropped a hell of a lot. I'm sure I paid 9k when I cleared mine :banghead: . Alt least you had a straight sale and don't have any paperwork headache of exporting/refunds/etc.

I paid €3300 for VRT January 2012. It's like 2 grand now! They value the CSL at €6k! :hahaha: basically they have it the same rating as a regular e46 M3

There was a black one for sale on Pistonheads a while back in Dublin pretty cheap I think. That wasn't yours was it?

Nope that must be the one that Chris is referring to. It was on NI plates but for sale in Dublin. I thought it went back up North.

I thought there were few VRT bargains left out there. They appear to have removed anything with any potential 'collector' status off the VRT website. :moan:

There was (is?) an SB one in Dublin for sale with NI plates, and think it spent some time down in Wexford too
