Go AP. Better availability of spares!

AP's are the tried and trusted option preferred by the assembled multitude:thumbs:
However if your only doing a few trackdays it's a big outlay, try the OEM route with RS29 pads and some decent fluid for starters, then decide what to spend you hard earned cash on :supz:
I'm still deciding :hahaha:

Yes although It just makes you seem like a more hardcore driving god though so it's all good:wink:
I actually don't find mine squeal too much but I've had them on a e36 before and it was pretty bad!

You can always swap the RS29s in and out for track only. That is what I do with my AP set up and without any problems. I do not think the OEM calipers are much more difficult to swap pads in/out.

They only squeal when cold, keeps the pedestrians awake.

I did this for two years.
Swapped out frog rs29 for ds2500 after every trAckday. Worked a treat.
Only worth it if to do some road miles between circuits.

Tarox are really good brakes but mega ££££
AP are a really good set up and are relatively cheap for a BBK.
Stoptech and others are also ok but are not as easy to get serviced and parts

I thought Tarox was the choice for those on a budget? I know CTR owners who went for it as it was cheaper than the rest.

Jon - rs29, fluids, hoses will do you. What I Run. Unless you're going to do 6+ days pa in your CSL, it's not worth it to go BBK - especially when you got the e36.

im using stoptech.brake pads originate from porsche 997,performance friction have replacement discs and pads pagid ferodo ebc all do pads to fit these calipers and there are a few other good companies that you can get the bits from if needed.after our bank holiday blast i treated them real harsh and didnt even get a squeek or any brake fade.well happy with my choice.
excellent kits:thumbs:

Don't forget your hoses 'Hel' or 'Goodridge' both as good as each other: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261212780761?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch% 2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D26121 2780761%26_rdc%3D1

Each have their own experiences, my life with Tarox was better than APs, but different car and they weren't the cheaper option :)
Go with what you think is right for you and your budget.

avoid yellow stuff pads or anything from EBC. they are shite and they crumble.
you mean these ones: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/parts-and-plates/parts-and-accessories/bmw/ap-racing-e46-m3-6-pots-bbk/1320029
ok on cars under a tonne but CSL is not.
if you are going APs then go Pagid. not point in cutting corners.

I'm quite happy on my KSport kit with EBC Bluestuff pads... Leaps and bounds better than std.

I'd rather have just AP fronts. their obsession with high piston count is pure marketting led BS...

I have brembo 6 pot front and 4 pot rears. I couldn't agree more with the comment about pagid pads for the track, for street I'm running hawk hps pads. Pagids are good but overkill on a street car. I'm not familiar with any other BBK kits other then stop tech and brembo, but your guys AP's look up to par. Plus with AP's I heard you guys won't need to run spacers up front, not sure if that's true. I'm running OEM csl wheels and to clear the 6 pot front caliper I had to go with a 10 mm spacer. Had I known this myself before I got my BBK kit, I probably would have went with AP's myself.
