Within 2 weeks of owning my CSL I had a front puncture. The puncture was near the edge so I needed a new tyre... Michelin SS...£££s...

4 weeks ago I had 2 brand new Michelin SS fitted for £500.00... yesterday, puncture... big nail near the edge, new tyre required...

Am I really unlucky?... on another note 10,000 covered now in 7 months and still loving it except for the bloody punctures...

I'd say your just unlucky. I had a 1 1-2 8 screw in my tire last week. Luckily it went in sideways and didn't puncture.

Maybe a repeat /stoopid question but whats the favoured puncture repair/replacement for a long motorway trip (eg Munich!) - to get going quickly?
Carry a unidirectional spacesaver spare?

I bought a 17" e46 space saver along with an e46 tool kit & jack. Have it installed very nicely under a BMW cargo net .

I use on of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-VAN-TYRE-TIRE-PUNCTURE-REPAIR-KIT-WITH-10-STRIPS-NEW-High-Quality-/370725740376?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre _Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item5650f9df58

You will need a jack bolt spanner and a compressor.

I've had mine for 5k miles and had one puncture in a brand new tyre also

I've bought a puncture repair kit for £5 on ebay so if I get a nail in the tyre, I'll be able to repair at the side of the road.

I thought the kit in the boot was slime stuff for punctures ??? Inside the compressor ??

Yes, but best avoided as it renders the tyre useless.

That's what I had in mind, slime makes such a bloody mess and repair shops treat you like a leper when arrive with a slime repair!
