GT circuit at the Bedford autodrome. Really impressed with the track, tonnes of space, all sorts of corners and a very long straight. The usuals in attendance, GT3, GT-R, Turbo's, Atoms, Caterfields and lots of Renaultsports.
Front tyres were on the way out anyway, so now need to figure out what to replace them with. Not sure whether to go Supersports, one issue is the rear PS2's are still fine. I've also got a spare set of rims with winter tyres and a diesel daily runner...so cups ?
I previously had an M3 round a track a couple of times and it felt a bit wrong. This felt very right
Some vid here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_U2WiA7mLfA
(I'm pretty new to TD's so had a mate giving me tips as he used to work there, so please forgive the poor lines...)
Looks a little busy, but actually it was empty most of the time, it's just more interesting to watch with other cars in shot.

Car looks great.
Cool, I do have fond memories of Bedford. It's a great track to get closer and closer and past the limits.
If you want some lines just check out 27secs in

Great vid mate and really glad to see you are enjoying the CSL. I love Bedford.
Get Cup’s its even more fun...and they are good on the road as well, i just take it easy when its really pissing down or really cold.
Just out of interest did you have the TC on at Bedford?
Cheers Jamie (Easyjet to Innsbruck)

Were you on Cups (18s or 19s?) and I noticed you short-shifted after the hairpin by the pits - I assume this was to avoid tripping the noise meter on the in-field - is this usually the only one you have to worry about?
And I think Billy is assuming you are running a Super-sprint, but his iPhone changed it to spring ;).

Hi Jamie...still blaming you for this slippery slope
I tried all three, I was esp interested in M track mode as not used it before.
As expected with TC on, it kills the power in every corner.
With M track it's better, but still couldn't get the power down early enough. Spent most time in M track.
If you are a decent driver, Off is the only fast lap option. But as I'm learning the car I tended not to push it too far. I need more experience. Though as Shimmy says, Bedford is a great place to gain it.
The brakes were another area of interest. I have OEM and I was expecting them to be worse to be honest. I was often outbraking cars I didn't really expect to.
I tended to do one warm up lap, two at pace, and then a warm down. Bedford GT is massive though, so that's a lot of track. And quite hard to drive at a cruise….

Hi Mike,
First part was a full size DSLR mounted on a bracket attached using two plates that screw to the rear seat headrest posts. Just guessed on focus etc
Second part was a Go Pro 3 (out of it's housing) stuck to dash with velcro. Not ideal, but didn't have too much time and they don't like suction attachments.

;).
Cups 265x26x18 all round.
I tend to short shift as you say for the noise meter on the left. The others are equally touchy but if you avoid being close to noisey car you should be ok in a CsL.

Glad i could be of service re the slope of cecil
Even M track is rubbish IMO its far too intrusive and you can get clutch slur during up changes which i noticed on a couple of times on your vid albeit only slightly. S6 all the way eliminates all that bollox.
BBK is a must for me as i am heavy on brakes. I managed to fook my std ones at the EVO triangle soon after i got the car. So i put some AP’s on and then warped them at Bedford...doh :clown:
I run now AP’s on the front with PF discs and std rears with RS29 pads all-round and its lovely.

were you using the ds2500/ap supplied pads at that time?

yup...they are cnuts for supplying such rubbish pads with the kit. i wish i had know at the time.
i tried RS29’s to clean them up but that didn’t work, nor did emery cloth by hand. In the end i got them skimmed which totally fucked em and the pads :hahaha:
I think we had this conversation a few years ago at Bedford:beer:

I had the same dilemma a year ago and now have Supersports on the front and older PS2s on the rear - drove the car at the Ring and on my Euro holiday last year with no issues.
So long as the axles have decent matched tyres that are in good nick then you should have no problem.

Thanks Glendog.
After advice on here and some research wider, I am going SS. £392 for two fronts fully fitted with £50 Michelin fuel voucher (ATS by phone) seems pretty good.
I was sooo tempted by Cups, but realistically my car is not a track car and it's going to Bavaria in May :supz:
Talking of which, can't see Jibm on the list ??
