I wouldn't wrap IMO, did Tom not get the paint code? Paint for me if you get a match

The paint on it isn't hard to match. Actually I've been meaning to go and get a spray can done up for it ... might do that tomorrow if I can get away.

I also have a set wrapped in Alcantara ... quite like it and no worries about paint rubbing off - nice and soft if you have to hang onto it during hard cornering

Just to confirm and update on the base colour the painter used to replicate the trim colour on my spare pieces. Seems like I remembered it wrong, it was a Fiat colour as seen below. I got him to paint up another spare trim i had sitting around and he'll print off the computer mix for us when it's done, but it's a modified version of the colour below (which is actually surprisingly close)

So after a recommendation and some help form a member here, I was guided towards a local garage who took off the trims, matched them with their paint cards, painted them, baked them, even sprayed up a match card for future use with my name on, and then charged me £70 all inc.

Got the trims back today and very happy, even put on some flippers that were not peeling on the back. JUST my button now seems a little worn! They even removed the BMW part number sticker and put back after spraying!

Going to take mine to my local paint wizards to spray up.

Anyone know of any reason why I couldn't run car with no airbag in for a few days while they being painted? Will the light illuminate or cause any other issues?

It will put the light on

Take the trims off then pop the airbag back on simples

the trims don't hold the airbag and the M button wont need plugged in
win win

Cheers Mark, from watching YouTube of removals it looks like the trims support the airbag, but obviously not. I'll take them off this afternoon :)

On a slightly related note....

The plastics around the heater controls and sunglasses "cupboards" are scratched and being a perfectionist I have bought a new "bottom" unit off eBay to replace. (The two cupboards)

However, as mine is non a/c the CSL dials for heaters are quite rare. Does anyone know of a way to remove scratches from these plastics? Or is my only options a new one or a wrap?
