Thanks, big thanks to Jim for holding my hand in the hospital :smt055
Came off quite hard at knickerbrook (oulton), I think it was me going in too fast, but not sure if fluid was down as a few more had moments at the same place.
At one stage they had the helicopter on route.... All OK just had the insides doing the washing machine bit. Head like thunder and the kidney bleeding a bit. Should be OK in a week. Plenty of drugs to keep the pain away. Now discharged
I qualified 6th and we broke away from the start, 7 of us, I didn't want to lose the front runners and maybe showed my lack of talent compared to theirs
I have a short clip that I will try and download.

Was it a front lock up Steve? Did you see brake smoke in your mirror?
s.mac
14-04-2013, 07:00 PM
no lock up, trailed into the corner, which you can see with the pedals, then power down, but the car just went, I thought I got a nudge but the car behind wasn't close enough. A few watchers believed the track had some fluid down in that area. Some others had moments and spins in the same area?? I don't know what it was Shimmy. Tyres not warm enough for that speed early on, crap tyres on the rears??? I don't know, the tyre wall saved the car. Safety gear looked after me but my insides took the force :119:
it didn't just go it really went and I thought, this is going to hurt

Fucking pussy going the hospital for that:whistle:
Them side impacts to hurt a bit. My Csl went in on the side like that. Snapped the seat:smokin:
I was ok until I got home to bed and my insides felt very tender. Bet you feel like your kidneys have swapped places with ya lungs.
I blame the person who put your steering wheel on pissed.

Glad you and the car are OK Steve.
Good demonstration of Newton's first law - that's why your insides hurt, they wanted to keep moving but the car and, ultimately the tyre wall stopped 'em.
Let's be thankful it was something that decelerated you a tad slower than a wall would have.
All the best on a speedy recovery.

14-04-2013, 09:38 PM
Thanks Curly, was obviously gutted.. Was it recoverable??
Ha ha Lawsy, I sort of went with the flow when the doctors in the medical centre said my vitals weren't good and the air ambulance was on its way.
I even thought I would be straight out of A&E until they said I had blood in my pee and then the CT scan confirmed the kidney had a slight issue.
Strange how you can be brand new outside but your insides can get kicked in.
It will all be good in a few days and then it will be time to get the dent man to look at the car

Holy fook Steve, good to hear you're on the road to recovery though. A stark reminder as to no matter how careful you are, things do happen and you'll be glad you spent the money on safety features of the car and belts etc.
Get well soon and get back behind the wheel sharpish!

approx. 70mph at that point (3rd gear corner 60/90mph)
so 70 to zero I would imagine is some G's inside your body :bigcry:
