Hi there,

Going to get some powerflex RTA bushes shortly, just wondering, as i have yet to get amongst the underside of the car, ( yes i know, how slack ) are they visible, accessible from under the car with it on axle stands, does anything need removing for access, wheels, exhaust parts etc??

Just want to be prepared when i start,
Thank ya smelly crutch peeps

See my post in for sale section mate, my kits are ready to go ,getting pictures of kits taken over the weekend(will post them next week)They will come with full fitting instructions and take approx 1 hour to fit . Me and my mate have got kit's fitted to our cars and they completley transform the car ! It will be the best £70.00 modification you will ever fit !! P.S.... I am an ex Evo man myself , have had about 8 over the years. Cheers Tim

Thanks Tim, i will keep checking this weekend for pics, interested to see what the kit consists of, as an ex evo man :clown: you too have probably got used to spending lots for a little in return. :banghead:
So if i can transform the old shed for 70 squids then i am interersted :hahaha:
Cheers, Nick

I have spent more money on scoobs and evo's than i care to remember. Trying not to go down same route with my csl which i must say is almost perfect, These kits are great me and my mate spent a lot of time getting them just right they make the steering feel much more positive as well as stopping rear movement (as the rear is held tight you dont have to keep making little movements of steering to keep it straght) you will be well pleased if you fit the kit.

not a nice job at all dont see any satisfaction in sweating cutting your fingers getting shit in your eyes swearing and wishing you had never bothered

more satisfaction in collecting it and driving home thinking ooh that's better and im still clean

ps make sure you get the geo done afterwards

I love tinkering on the CSL, makes a nice change vs working on quite literally sh*t covered plant machinery :hahaha:

make sure you either mark where the arm is located at the moment or get a geo done afterwards (in which case you may as well just get someone else to fit them anyway).

I could've sworn there used to be a guide on here:

http://m3.madrussian.net/diy.shtml

Which showed using tipex or similar to mark the current position.

marking the camber plates is a waste of time as the new bushes are different and will be fitted differently

I read somewhere that if the square carrier thing on the end of the trailing arm was put back in exactly the same place the rear toe would be the same - it is the carrier that was marked in the guide I read - I guess it would be hard to get it exactly right though so you'd need a geo anyway.

Back to paying a man to do it then!

nigh on impossible plus he want's to use powerflex bushes and not oe and if you use a limiter kit it would change anyway

Marking does work, I did it myself!
Perfect geo.
You just need to be careful.

If you mark the plate correctly you can put it back exactly where you removed it from (we have had our's on and off about 10 times and checked geomatry every time and its always been dead on) our limiter kit's do not adjust rear geomatry at all. Cheers Tim (think i may have spelt geomatry wrong)

Marking the carrier and putting it back in the same place should in theory keep the alignment the same. Replacing or changing the bushes, fitting limiter plates etc will most likely change the alignment.

I would certainly advise alignment being checked, it seems such a waste to fit something that will improve the car and then only have half the improvement because the alignment is out. Also alignment is so cheap compared to a set of tyres, its a false economy not to get it atleast checked.

To be honest I'd just get the whole lot done by someone who knows what they are doing or I'd end up with a car that handled like a clown car :D

I think I agree - and whilst we're on topic I think the single best thing you can do with your CSL is take it to someone who knows how to set them up properly. It can transform the car if it wasn't right in the first place.
