MOT emission failure, please help

I just failed the MOT due to over the limits emissions:banghead:
the local garage here in London told me that can be due to a spark plug...and suggested me to book in a BMW garage fix the problem and come back within 10 days to re-test the car.
The local BMW dealer in London want to charge me £ 144 only for the diagnostic plus any work needed.....:bigcry:

do you have any idea on the cause of the emission failure? I have a ful Milltek but i had no problems with previous MOTs....
The garage also suggested me to try to have a blast on the motorway and then re-test again....
a real nightmare!

Don't panic - it probably just needs a good run to clear the pipes, especially if you've had it laid up the past couple of months.:thumbs:

Should have took it to ELM's mine went through no problem :thumbs:

Mine would fail every time but they just let it run and keep trying.

Always makes it in the end!

Take it to George marco i use the MOT testing station next to him i had the same problem with full miltek it failed also but he got it through next time round.

Get it really warm with a good blast before testing and it'll be fine.

This system purports to clean up the engine's inner workings and cut emissions dramatically - haven't tried it myself - has anyone else here? Costs about £120 I think.
