I've noticed since my subframe has been done that my rear seats are creaking like a bastid!
Anyone got any good fixes for this?
I might have to pull the whole rear interior out on the weekend (if the weather picks up), as it's starting to grate me now!
It wasn't that creaky before it went in for subframe fix, so a bit weird.
Any ideas?!

Felt between the 2 60/40 rear sections. Mine used to do it too, shows how much the chassis flexes!

Nath, dense question, between the split vertically in between the seats or across the plastic section at the back?

That's exactly how I feel :119:

Yeah, mine had some there from the off but squeek on mine was from that vertical split, from memory it wasn't sat right or had fallen off or something.

Same here :banghead: Infact, it's near on impossible to close or open the 60/40 rear seats individually since my subframe fix :smt017

Ok lads mine was the same after some investigation her is the fix
There is a bracket at the bottom of the 2 rear seats where they meet
it is bolted to the floor with 4 12mm bolts they need adjusting first
Put the 2 seat backs down and in the middle remove the T25 bolt then the cover over the seat fittings can be removed.
Now remove the 2 seat backs they lift from the middle and they slide out at the other side its like a pin in a hole.
Now loosen the 4 bolts but just enough that the can move now fit the small seat back in and move the bracket so the seat sits level at the to and tighten the bottom 2 bolts so it does not move.
Now fit the other seat back and see how the gap is between the seats
It should just have a small gap best to have the boot open to see this and they should be level across the top.
Once you have done this and they are sitting nice remove the seat backs and tighten all the bolts.
Now its the release part in the boot when the backs are up if they can move easy when pushed from the inside at the top they are not tight enough.
pull the handle and drop the seat and under the rear deck where the back hits the top there are 2 bolts for each catch you have to loosen then just a little and move then towards the back of the car to make them tighter but not soo tight you have to pull the handle hard to open them.
Hope this helps
This is how the gap should look :supz:

Thank God for this thread. I was convinced that there were additional creaks since my subframe was repaired, but figured that it was somehow down to the cold weather or that I was highly paranoid. Am now going to undertake the fix. Cheers.

Well I took out my rear seats to do the fix today...
As it was sunny I thought I would have a quick blat with the seats out...creaking was worse!! So took out the rear carbon panels and corner trims and went back out.
Creaking / rattling still there so I am completely stumped, its coming from the boot / rear quarter something is not right as the car was fine before I had the subframe fix.
Going to have to ring Elms tomorrow as something is clearly not right at all, am gutted as its ruined my weekend.

Sorry to hear this mate, I hope it's nothing too serious.
I'll be realigning my back seat backs over the weekend myself as per Mark's notes.
Let us know of your progress.

MarkCSL's pictures of his cesil getting subframe treatment was a real eye opener/major undertaking with most of the rear of the car being stripped out
Elms will sort it no question, totally sympathise with you though, we are like expectant fathers when the cars away for a hospital visit. It's just plain bollocks when there's an issue post servicing/warranty work.

Update
After setting the seat backs you need to clean the seat back where it meets the parcel shelf plastic and also clean this when done close the rear seats
Then go into the boot and release the 2x 13mm nuts holding the seat they are under the parcel shelf just loosen them and the seat will sit where it needs to then tighten both nuts on both seats and take for a drive it should be nice and quiet
