200 miles in and VERY happy! Just come from a 2011 C63 (Performance Pack Plus and LSD) so nice to have a car that handles again. Feels very light and nimble compared to the Merc :)

Looking good and congrats on your purchase!
MPG over the Merc has got to be a bonus!
They sound great don't they...
Finding I want mine in Sport mode all the time, where as I didn't bother so much back when I had my 'plain' M3!

Congrats, that looks lovely
Sport all the way unless you're parking!
cheers guys.
Overall mpg in the C63 was 17. Rear tyres less than 5k miles. Straight-line it was a road legal hot-rod! Doesn't like corners though :eeek:

Whats your thoughts on the C63 ??? I would be interested to hear as a few friends have them and they seem to love them, esp as road cars.

Whats your thoughts on the C63 ???
Great car. Mine was a saloon. I'd say probably the most comfortable car i've ever drove too - seats are fantastic. I came from a Boxster Spyder into the C63, and previous cars being a 997 GTS, and before that a 997.2 GT3 - so handling was a reality shock, to say the least. It felt very heavy. I'd say people buy AMG's for straight-line pace, engine noise, and that 6.3 badge on the front wing. Chest wig optional :)

Ta dude,
I'll never forget the GT3 - unfortunately sold to release some cash. Deeply regret selling as had great spec, but hope/will replace with another (maybe RS?).

I thought you,d have a gt3 by now Chris you,v said a few times about them .... See a comment about a chest wig for c63 drivers I no one thing you need big balls to drive one flat out sliding about on the road be nice to see a pic up of that

CSL looks great.
That GT3 is a thing of absolute beauty:smt055
Interested to hear your opinion on the CSL vs GT3. I think most of us would secretly like a GT3 at some point but I wonder is the CSL easier to drive and more fun day to day. GT3 seems very low and seems like it could be a pain in the ass driving it down around town. Obviously it would be better than the CSL on track

You & I both :banghead: Truth be told a change in circumstances has somewhat put the brakes on.
Still my goal but should I go for one the CSL would most definitely have to go whereas my head is telling me buying another E60 M5, now that they have slowed down their depreciation curve along with the CSL would also be nice place to be - kind of best of both worlds.
I dont know, will just have to wait and see I guess but the lure of that flat six is strong ...

GT3 was low - i had the 'front-axle-lift' which came in handy at first, but tbh i don't think i'd bother next time - if you approach the humps VERY slowly it will clear them without the lift.
CSL is much easier to drive around town though. The GT3 has a heavy clutch - this made town-driving tiresome (also have to confess to stalling it a few times too...). The other prob with the GT3 (for road use anyway) was; you had to be really 'travelling' to extract the 'fun' out of the car. Give it 8k+rpm in 3rd gear and your doing 120mph! If you don't want to do porridge - the CSL might be a more road-friendly tool.
Seats - much prefer the comfort of the fixed CSL buckets to the folding bucket's in the GT3. I found the GT3 seats to be too low (i'm only 5ft 8") and tiresome over a 1+hr journey.
There's no doubting the GT3 was just that little bit more of an 'event' to drive though. I've not had time to reallllly compare the CSL yet, but after owning 2 other Porsche's (997 GTS + Boxster-Spyder) and a C63 pp+, as well as driving plenty of other metal (M5'S, E63'S, M5 V8, 1M, 991C2S, + more) the closest fun and 'feeling of driving something special' to the GT3 is deffo the CSL. A mate hit the nail on the head - "the CSL is the second best car i've ever owned!"
We should all be very grateful for the CSL - there is nothing out there atm to touch it for the money, IMVHO. With the direction manufacturers and their cars are going - there'll never be another one.
