Thought i would start a new post relating to my new purchase.
Still smiling from the drive back home, even if the weather was shite.
I am now going through the wad of paperwork that came with the car.
First 2 questions:
I have the original Specification enquiry and note in addition to green shade windscreen I have:
Removal of top speed limiter (231)
and
Cop Relative (1CA) - what does this refer to?
Cop Relative (1CA) - what does this refer to?
Coil-on-plug
From Wikipedia -
In modern systems, the distributor is omitted and ignition is instead electronically controlled. Much smaller coils are used with one coil for each spark plug or one coil serving two spark plugs (for example two coils in a four-cylinder engine, or three coils in a six-cylinder engine). A large ignition coil puts out about 20 kV, and a small one such as from a lawn mower puts out about 15 kV. These coils may be remotely mounted or they may be placed on top of the spark plug (coil-on-plug or Direct Ignition). Where one coil serves two spark plugs (in two cylinders), it is through the "wasted spark" system. In this arrangement the coil generates two sparks per cycle to both cylinders. The fuel in the cylinder that is nearing the end of its compression stroke is ignited, whereas the spark in its companion that is nearing the end of its exhaust stroke has no effect. The wasted spark system is more reliable than a single coil system with a distributor and less expensive than coil-on-plug.

Removal of 155 limiter is a nice bonus if you're coming to Munich!

Gave the interior a clean today:
Steering wheel turned out to be really grubby - literally two white T shirts (old ones of course) were needed to lift the grime. It looks a different colour now!
I treated the handbrake and gear stick gaiter to a clean and soak with Liquid Leather. The handbrake leather was really dry and not far off cracking. I would recommend that you check and nourish yours, if you havn't already.
Finally, do they all have airbag cutouts (not sure if they have airbags underneath) in the pillars either side of the windscreen?

Thanks Chicken.
Another Plus point - the speakers aren't has bad as I expected them to be.
No flaming please, on my drive home up the M40 yesterday, I did listen to Radio 2 for a short while...
Purely for research reasons.

Thanks for the link, I had mine in bits today "because I can" wished I knew about this site earlier :banghead: ...even if looking in a 'manual' is a sign of weakness in the male fraternity ;)
I also 'obtained' the TIS manual whilst away from my home IP address ;) which is rather useful too... if not very easy to use!

Mine hit the limiter at an accurately measured (timing beams) 162mph at Bruntingthorpe. So you won't be going any faster in a CSL unless your car is derestricted or you fit REALLY BIG wheels !

Had mine off the clock on a very long air field near me , there are some clips on you tube of e46 m3s speedos with different diff ratios in, anybody know what the CSL ratio is

That's a respectable speed! I only managed a 167 best in a 997 GTS (408hp power kit) at Brunty.

Took a couple of pics today!
Ignore the water marks on the frontside door, just wiped off some seagull shit following a trip to Barmouth.

Don't worry, there is a cure, for about 800 notes it can be masked to be a SG rep :hahaha:
