Booking for the Salzburgring on 28th May are now OPEN. :-D

We have to move quickly and I ask that this that are gong do not delay and book with Dave now at the following link

Price is currently £250 per car. This wil rise after end March as we plan to keep cars down to 60 total (open pit lane) so hat everybid gets a decent amount if time. Others at Salazburg run 3x30 sessions to make costs work.

Obviously we need bookings now to make this work so please pick up your phone/tablet/keyboard and start booking!

We have very kindly been helped out by Dave at Opentrack.co.uk who has stepped in and taken over the booking made for us by BMW.ag at the circuit. Dave at Opentrack is an ATDO member and will take bookings through his website. Dave is also arranging collection and repatriation of our trade rims and tyres as a knock down price.

The Salzburgring is located on the route 158 east of the festival city of Salzburg, in the lake district of the Salzkammergut nestled between the villages Koppl and Plainfeld. The circuit is surrounded by richly wooded hills, which serve for the viewer as a magnificent amphitheatre for events and provide an excellent view of the racetrack.
Lying in a narrow, alpine valley, the circuit has a hockey stick layout, with two long straights plus the sweeping and fast "Fahrerlagerkurve" ("paddock turn") at the bottom, and the narrow "Nockstein-Kehre" on the top. The circuit has a fearsome reputation for the high speeds reached on the straights and in the "Fahrerlagerkurve".

The construction of the Salzburgring began in 1968 on a 42 hectare area; a year of construction took place and in September 1969 the circuit opened with of a combination of auto and motorcycle racing. In 1970, the first "Grand Prix of Austria" was carried out for motorcycles, and a year later, the first FIM Motorcycle World Championship was held here. Nowadays in addition to international and national motorcycle and automobile races there are driving safety courses, club meetings, company presentations and many other events besides.

Because of the idyllic location, with geographically convenient connections and the excellent infrastructure surrounding the racetrack, the Salzburgring is often revisited by guests from home and abroad.

2. I will chat again to David and get a definite number so far (including those who haven't got thu to him yet.

3. my gut feels that we have 35-38 places sold/nearly sold so I'd guess we maybe will have 40 by trAckday Tuesday.

4. With around 40 I would guess that it might be possible to go ahead with it but we will all have to stump up a little extra. We set it at £250/275 hoping to not put too many off but hoping that 50 ish would be possible but I think in retrospect that was a bit optimistic.

Let's see how we get on this week before we jump to any big decisions.


AS FOR CCI, I am due to speak to them tomorrow as they called me today to update me on their reply to my request and will preport back

I've organised a few trackdays in my time so my advice would be to contact the circuit directly and ask them to send an email to their trackday regulars and invite them along.

Also if you go on some of the European and Nurburgring forums you'd easily find a few guys to come along.

As a last resort, the circuit wont want a cancelation - ask them for some movement on price. 40 x £250 is a lot of EUROs!! They will want the €

IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET that we have to cancel the TD at the Salzburgring. We only have around 30 bookings where we need close to double that (at £250). We've tried to get the price down via the circuit with no joy nd with vat not recoverable asking £450 ish per person is just far too much.

Most I think will still go to Salzburg via the Alps after Munich but I also suspect many will cancel this part of the trip.

We are looking at alternatives for Tuesday 28th for those that venture still to Salzburg, such as a days karting, or a mountain drive up the alpine passes.

Let me know please who is still SalzburgING and who is off home.
