Friends of mine is looking to get his APs refurbed after his valet man has ruined them using unfriendly wheel cleaners.

Anyone any good recommendations?
Cheers in advance,
Barry

Cheers Neil but I think he's after a more comprehensive refurbishment with seal change and complete strip and re-paint.

Godspeed do the full refurb bit. Ap can do a service but they don't paint.

Buy seal kit from questmead and replace seals by yourself....

if I can do it anyone can - even Smac:)

tools needed

footpump
block of wood (to chock the pistons as you pump)
blunt flat bladed screwdriver, to pry out seal

plus gas/dismantling fluid
maybe a source of heat to loosen bleed nipple
8 or 10mm socket for nipple
brake fluid
brake cleaner

I then got a mate to paint mine gloss black, i think it cost me a few bacon butties and some beer

They look fantastic, what sort of price does he charge? Are they sprayed or powder coated?

The top pic are mine, done by Paul, great job as you can see how bad it was.

£150 for all 4 painted, £170 + cost of seals if you want them changed. Think Questmead said £30 for front seals per caliper & £25 for rears.

Really happy with my brakes now

Hmmm, quite a reasonable price. Has to be red for me.

That's a fair price and they look a top job.
Are they painted or powder coated? If they are painted do they have a base coat or a bead blast coat?

They are painted using high temp aircraft paint. I don't know the proper details though

Evening all,

Can anyone recommend anyone else that could do this?

Plenty of companies can do them all one colour but can't find anyone to do them back to black with yellow!

Cheers

I'm sure I tried them & they could only do them one colour.

Will check Monday though.

Cheers.

Ah, when I say one colour I mean they won't do them black with yellow or red with white etc.

But I'll check.

Very easy to paint the AP bit with a good brush and 2pack paint

Friend had an interesting experience with the above, has never been lied to so much by any company ever.

They have had multiple CCJs in the last few years and indeed he ended up having to file a small claims court claim against them to get his money back, use caution.
